When did Therese ever spend the night at Carol's house?

I'm confused.

Another cut scene. Therese spent the night at Carol's before they set out on their journey. This was also a key scene with Abby that landed on the cutting room floor...

Paulson talks about the deleted scene between Abby and Therese in the kitchen of Carol's house.

Had it remained we would have seen that Therese stayed at Carol's before they took off on their road trip.

This was also in the book, and there is a funny scene where Therese asks for warm milk. It's an odd scene. I think they should have kept it, since this film needs more of the parts where they fell in love.

Hi Ruben,

I'm one of those who sensed the mother/daughter undercurrent, even without that particular scene. It's less overt in the film than it is in the book (which I read after I'd seen the film twice), but it's there, in my opinion.

The filmmakers did a nice job of presenting a complex relationship in a subtle and thoughtful manner. Carol ranks high in my top ten favorites.

Agreed, Ruben.

Another sign of ageism in our society.

And films perpetuate it. Take Foxcatcher. The real people that Mark Ruffalo and Sienna Miller portray are the exact same age, yet Mark Ruffalo and Sienna Miller are fourteen years apart.

I don't really get it...

Thanks for the replies.

Why is Therese wearing her PJs during the day?

I would make Therese breakfast! How does she like her eggs? 

Do you mean in the deleted scene? The photo you shared was part of when Therese stayed overnight at Carol's house, but I wish the dvd had all of those extras so people could decide to watch it if they wanted. What a let down.
