Yea, just that ring was a beauty, easily looked to fetch around $50k, which Dom has happy with I suppose, he did drive plastered and cause that crazy accident, plus the poor little gold digging whore kinda earned that money and felt as though she had a stake in it too. Maybe he wanted to stay on karmas good side.

Yeah that ending sucked. He could have gotten the money, he also could have tried to get in the car earlier in the movie. But he let her get away, both times.

In reality, chances are that he'd never see her again. So the second time he saw her, he should have made sure he got his cash!

I think you guys are underestimating just how valuable that ring would be worth. Check this out:

It did frustrate me that he "settled" for the ring however i think it was a calculated risk. Regardless of his threats, she could've screamed at anytime and he would've been arrested and never see her again. Even if he did take the ring and then tried to persuade her to go back to her hotel or whatever to give him cash, it would've been to risky. The dude she was with would call the cops who would throw him in jail plus take that ring of him.

Speaking of the dude she was with, given her previous boyfriend that could have been som mafia king-pin too. He needed to get out of there as soon as possible. He had one shot, and that was the ring. Had he gotten greedy all kinds of things could've happened.

That diamond looked perfect and flawless - so it was worth at least as much as he lost.

It wasnt about the money anymore. And yea, that ring wasnt exactly cheap.
He wanted to have a normal and happy life with his family.
