He settled for the ring?

So he walked away happy with that big ring of hers. How much could it have been worth?

reply

Well, considering that some diamond rings worth millions or more, I guess he wouldn't have settled for something cheap. Also being a safecracker, he might have some experience with diamonds.
I also think that, getting back with his family was more important and maybe, even though the ring didn't worth 750.000 punds, he got enough to start a new life.

He was flat broke. The ring was better than nothing.

reply

Agreed. I hope the ring was worth MORE than she stole from him..but either way, he could buy an apartment with the proceeds of that ring and not be homeless. Not that Dom Hemingway would do something so practical.

Not to mention, spending 12 years in prison for a measly 750k in British lbs...not worth it. Initially they were only gonna pay him 250k, wow..

I interpreted that scene as him seeing the ring as only the "down payment" of all he intended to extract from her; now that he has found her, he'll undoubtedly squeeze her for more.

It's Dom we're talking about though. He probably went straight to the pub, got pissed and on the walk home fell and the ring fell down a drain.

The woman is the type who would get up and leave she wouldn't hang around for Dom to extract more from her. I think the ring more than settles the score.
