Extremely Underappreciated

I am a big Cage fan. Roger Ebert has labeled him one of the greatest actors ever, capable of anything, for a reason. He is great. He's been in a lot of straight to DVD movies, for reasons unknown. Money problems? Hollywood not casting him? Think he's too much of a joke now? Some of the movies like Trespass and Seeking Justice have been bad. Stolen wasn't much better, but wasn't the terd some thought. And Joe was excellent. An academy award worthy performance.

Now we have Rage. A classic B movie. Simple plot, campy, fun, hilarious, and a good little twist at the end. Sure, the action scenes weren't great, the slow motion scenes from the director were a little much, the movie had the look of a low production movie, but Cage nailed it. Can't ever say this guy doesn't try. The scene where he says to the man he shot "no don't die" then he smashes his head into the ground 5 times, just hilarious. That's what I want to see from Cage in these kinds of movies. The scene where he says "you're a rat" over and over to his partner, another classic freak out from Cage.

All in all, if you don't take this movie seriously, it can be enjoyed. Cage was great , and the ending provided a little twist I didn't see coming, and I'm usually really good at spotting them. Movie deserves to be in the mid 6's in imdb. I gave it an 8.

Wow you are easy to please. If it runs in the family can I get your sisters phone number?

No he's just one of the rare people out there that can actually just sit back and watch a movie because he's not up on a high horse thinking he's better than everyone else. And that last part is just ridiculous, penguins can't mate with people?
