Hated it at first. But after a much consideration....
I hated it because there were several missed opportunities to redeem the character and the movie. But after some consideration. I'm leaning towards, it's genius. The reason is this. You finish the movie and are rather upset, thinking, what a pointless movie! That's the genius of it actually. The empty pointless feeling you have, is because that's what rage does. It's take away everything meaningful. Consider that you are left upset, because it's meant to leave you feeling that way, feeling the pointlessness of "rage" after witnessing someone make bad decision after bad decision because he is full of ..... rage.
