The Invitation, The Witch, Coherence, what next?

I'm on a roll right now with Thriller/ horror. Please leave a recommendation of a film that will be as good as these last 3.

reply

The Babadook and It Follows if you haven't already seen them.

reply

Yeah... Saw them a few months ago. It Follows was great but the ending was weak IMO. Same goes for the Babadook.

The Witch and The Invitation were both amazing throughout. Where the endings were as good as the whole film. I really liked Session 9 but that's from over a decade ago. Definitely looking for recent horror. Keep em comin

trinagle, time crimes, 13 beloved, cypher, splinter

Under the skin is a little different but you might like it.

You Are Not Alone

reply

Looked up "You Are Not Alone". IMDb has a page... With only 83 ratings. Other than that- I can't really find anything about it on the Internet. Definitely not on rotten tomatoes. I'm considering watching it, as well as the other recommendations. I definitely want to check out Triangle. I've been hearing about it for too long.

But back to You Are Not Alone. How'd you hear about it? Where can I watch it? And... What makes it you're solo recommendation? I just want a LITTLE preface before I invest my time.

reply

You Are Not Alone is currently streaming on Netflix. First-rate film, but not a classic.

Edit: sorry. I confused You Are Not Alone with We Are Still Here. LOL

reply

We Are Still Here = you're right it's not a classic. But it still had some awesome scenes

reply

Agreed. Stylish atmosphere.

I stream movies. I saw it last year, then I bought it on Amazon.uk.
It's the Fourth of July and its shot of her throughout the day as she is secretly being stalked. It's shot POV.
There is a wanted killer in the city she is visiting.....
Has odes to Halloween throughout..which excited me more!
Suspenseful, creepy, straight from my nightmares...
It's on IMDB. My comment is there. I created an account just to applaud, it's that good.

Welcome to Fright Night....for real. 

reply

Any idea where I can watch Green Room?

reply

For anyone wondering. Green Room is certainly worth a watch. Beware all the hype tho. Go in with realistic expectations

reply

Cop Car an excellent excellent film. Totally understated and underappreciated. Same goes for Stoker tbh

reply

Cop Car: solid film. Reminded me of Stand by Me with even a little hint of No Country For Old Men.
Haven't seen bacon in anything that good since Mystic River.

I do recommend it. Not scary though. Just a crime thriller.

Horror tho? Again: check out "Baskin".

Believe it's on Netflix

The Perfect Host 2010
Definitely at the same level as these films and an entertaining Psychological thriller that also involved a house party ! Dont miss it if you have not seen it

reply

I checked out The Perfect Host, surprisingly funny & entertaining, odd & campy in places.
