ending shot - direct fight club rip off

Anybody else noticed the ending shot is a direct copy of the fight club ending shot (the man and woman holding hands while on a wide shot, chaos is revealed).

Up to that point I thought it was a pretty decent thriller. Except for the third act, when it just becomes a predictable psycho cult movie (how many more of those do we need?)

I think the shot itself was similar but what the two are seeing and the feeling it leaves you with is different. In Fight Club, we can see by the collapse of several buildings that Tyler's revolution has begun. In The Invitation, we can see by the collection of glowing red lanterns that many other cultists and their guests are likely dead. Whereas Fight Club concludes with a beginning, The Invitation concludes with an end. In both cases, however, we're witnessing the end game of a large and complex plan.

I usually wouldn't agree with this term for a person. But here it's completely appropriate and called for

So every couple holding hands with *beep* going down in the background is a rip off?
