... how could you have gotten up to that episode without knowing Billy has Muscular Dystrophy? They mention it in virtually every episode.

MS paralyzed him.

Post paralyzation, while in a wheelchair Jim pushed him into the lake. Intent being for fun, not to hurt Billy.

Billy loved it, his mom did not; one of the reasons why she hates Jim.

Musclhe Dystrophy probably Duchenne muscle dystrophy (most common). Definitely not MS.
