How all of a sudden john feels so attracted towards a girl(jane).
He was raised with girls yet he had never ever felt any sort of attraction for girls before either in orphanage or in spacecorp.
When John was at the bar talking with the other John he said that when she was a girl she never felt sex as the normal people.
She was always been an hermaphroditic... she probably prefer mind connection..
so she fall in love with John when she was Jane and then he fall in love with Jane when he was John... and even at the end... He miss himself and decide to became the Fizzle bomber to start again the circle...
He/she is the only thing than he/she care about.

Anyway Jane/John in his life get attracted just by himself. Nobody else.
And at the end, after he killed himself Fizzle bomber, in the last scene of the movie he says that he is the only true real thing in his life and he miss himself so much...and he looks in the camera... It means that he decided to become the Fizzle to start again the circle and have the possibility to meet himself again...and again...and again

I was talking about Alice, girl that barkeeper(ethan hawke) was talking with inside typewriter shop.Barkeeper was interested in her.The future john(old frizzle bomber) was also in relationship with her for some time.But I agree that basically john likes himself.
