Look, I just need to know, 'cause the city is flying.

Okay, look, the city is flying, we're fighting an army of robots... and I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes any sense. But I'm going back out there because it's my job. Okay? And I can't do my job and babysit.

It doesn't matter what you did, or what you were. If you go out there, you fight... and you fight to kill.

Stay in here, you're good, I'll send your brother to come and find you. But if you step out that door... you are an Avenger.

I loved it too. it was funny. However I wouldn't be so easy on someone who messed with the team. I, personally, would've verbally made her fear worse. I don't care if she was sorry or the team needed her help. I just hope she gets hers in Civil War.

I feel like the twins were led astray by Von Strucker and Hydra. The were twisted by Hydra in to blaming Stark for what happened rather than the person/people who dropped the bomb.

Once they saw what things were leading to they changed their ways. I think their redemption was ok for a comic book movie.

He doesn't have the luxury of rejecting potential allies.

In the first Avengers movie he was brainwashed by Loki and dealt a lot of damage to the team himself. Brainwashed, yes, but that was still him. Wanda and Pietro weren't brainwashed but they were similarly mislead and misguided.

Further, realize that Black Widow was a target of his in the past, as a growing threat to S.H.I.E.L.D. Rather than kill her he gave her the chance to join S.H.I.E.L.D and become one of their agents -- which she did, and quite successfully.

It's been established that he's open to forgiveness and redemption, and recognizes that people don't fit into black and white views of "good and bad." Wanda and Pietro weren't bad; when they denounced Ultron and began to help the Avengers he had no more reason to penalize them.

Yeah that was great. A good balance of being in character and also being sort of inspiring without going over the top.

I liked how it sort of calls back to the "good chat" from Tony early in the film and the weak "not really" from the one guy who was shot in the leg.

Plus he's also commenting on the absurdity of the situation - being a superhero with a bow and arrow.

I also like right before he leaves, he mutters to himself again: "The city is flying..."

I kind of got the feeling that Renner saying "the city's flying" twice in his speech was not how it was written in the script, but was left in the movie for being better, funnier.

I wonder if he messed up his lines, but it worked better that way? Stuff like that happens all of the time.

In Dr. Stranglove, George C. Scott is delivering his tirade, slips, and keeps going. Kubrick left it in there because he realized in real life situations the general would have kept going and it showed how intent he was on delivering his message.

In the scene where Jedediah confronts Kane, Joseph Cotten had stayed awake for 24 hours before the shoot so as to finish in order to start a play in New York. He makes an error and says "dramatic crimiticism," a flub that Cotten inadvertently made in rehearsals that Welles decided to use.-CITIZEN KANE (1941)

One of my favorite scenes and the best lines in the movie. Hawkeye really stepped up again during this movie (saving and protecting the others a couple of times) and almost stole the film. I think it was even pointed out a couple of times that the team actually need him

He'd better not be the one to die in Civil War now

Hawkeye really did step up again during this movie and I have a feeling he'll be a key in Infinity War.

They finally gave Hawkeye his due in AoU (one of the best things about it), and this speech was one of the highlights.

It doesn't stop in Civil War. Hawkeye again gets enough screen time to shine.
