It sucked
I don't get all the praise this movie gets, the storyline could be written by a 12 year old, it's filled with useless CGI and action, no substance. I guess that's what audiences today want...

The story is above what a 12 year old could manage, especially juggling multiple characters.
The CGI served a purpose: to enhance scenes or characters.
The substance wasn't the best, but it did a good job of setting up the fracturing of the Avengers, which led into Civil War.
