Age of Ultron = Best Blockbuster of 2015

These Collider guys get it.

They break down all the Comic Book Movies Of 2015 and rightfully label Age of Ultron as a great film. They do point out shortcomings as well as strengths.

They say (and I agree) that Ultron needed to be set up better. It's also worth noting that the Hulkbuster/Hulk fight, the freeways showdown/train sequence between Cap and Ultron and the finale are three of the greatest scenes ever seen in any sequel, no matter the genre.

That still gives me the creeps.

"Do you really think this is the first time I shot someone?"

reply

"The city is flying, I've got a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense."

reply

Since it's almost February and we've seen all the 2015 efforts it's safe to say Age of Ultron officially has this crown and title, right?

reply

AOU is the Best of 2015!!!

reply

Agree, best of 2015.

Not a great year but not bad either. AOU beat some pretty good competition.

reply

I dare to say if Civil War doesn't beat AOU then this will be the best blockbuster for two years. Nothing else I see would touch AOU with due respect to Batman, Dr. Strange and the X-Men. Deadpool certainly isn't half as good as this film. The Independence Day sequel looks lame and If a continuation Star Wars can't beat AOU then how is Rogue One going to touch it?

reply

No way does a Star Wars prequel register even if they do use Darth Vader. Everyone is so tired of looking back instead of looking forward.

reply

With the third Civil War trailer here, I think it's a foregone conclusion that Civil War is going to beat AoU.

reply

No one even doubts it at this point.

reply

I put it behind The Martian and Inside Out.

The Aluminum Monster

reply

It said comicbook movie not blockbuster.

In this day and age, what's the difference? The best big films every year for the past seven years have ALL been comic book adaptation films.

reply

Star Wars crapped on it.

Star Wars was nothing compared to what the MCU has built. Honestly, Star Wars was fine but had nowhere near the depth of either Avenger film.

I accept your surrender.

reply

The Force Awaken's reception craps on Age of Ultron. Hell, its reviews and ratings are even better than the first one.

And it was only just a set-up movie.

I like me when I'm angry, however.

Hahahaha. Frack no, it's the best freaking disappointing blockbaster of last year before Star Wars. It is already forgotten none of my pals talks about it anymore.

reply

This coming from someone who rated "The HUNGOVER Games" as a 7.

reply

Virgin alert! Yeah just keep on fapping to you kiddy movies and soft drinks little nerd. Gives you delusions of being a important man, huh loser? Pathetic, I pitty you.

The Hunger Games are no masterworks but they at least manage for me to get laid a lot, you know like real sex with girls, huh. Should try it too before you die a freaking virgin.

reply

Sh!t. I didn't realize how retarded you are.

I said,

This coming from someone who rated "The HUNGOVER Games" as a 7.

You rated THE HUNGOVER GAMES A 7 YOU FREAKING BIRTH DEFECT.

reply

Really?! That is you reply, seriouly dude. What are you a girl or what. This was about your geeky cicken sh!t life and you come back with more nerdy loser stuff. Who cares what film you really meant, Hangover, Hunger Games or Hungover Games or how it is rated by anyone?! Focus, concetrate: this is about where the chicken ends and the sh!t beginns in your life. Get mum's dil-do of your as-s and grow up.

reply

Really? Your reading comprehension skills are so bad you couldn't understand I was ridiculing you for rating a horrible movie as a 7?

Hangover, Hunger Games or Hungover Games or how it is rated by anyone

It says a lot about how stupid and immature you are if you rated Hungover Games a 7 while trashing this movie.

Get mum's dil-do of your as-s and grow up.

Look, just because that is the way you like to suck on your mom's dildo doesn't mean everyone does.

Stop being a retard.

reply

Stop being a retard.

Hahaha. Agreed. OK but only if you stop too.

reply

The problem is, I'm not being a retard. Nothing about what I've posted is retarded. I called you out on your poor critiquing skills and you went off on a rant without even understanding what I said.

You also seem to think sexual conquests are something to judge a person positively on. Every time I've met a man who boasts about the number of women he's had sex with and he's shown me pictures of the women, I've been less than impressed. I also laugh when I see the woman they ended up marrying - 😨

Iger took a moment to call out "phenomenal" studio success after the Studio Entertainment division grew revenues 40% to $2.85B. Since the 2006 acquisition of Pixar, he notes, 29 films have come out under the Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm and Disney Animation banners, averaging $800M worldwide box office each, "an astonishing achievement." It's not just box office, Iger says, but substantial added value across consumer products, TV, and Parks and Resorts.

I just pray that Disney doesn't waste their money and buy Twitter.

That company has gone as far as it ever will.

Oh Oh, trouble in paradise?

Thomas Staggs -- chief operating officer at Walt Disney, and heir apparent to succeed CEO Bob Iger -- has scrambled succession plans with a move to step down early in May, The New York Times reports. Staggs will leave his role on May 6, but remain employed by the company as an adviser to Iger through September. The board might look outside for a successor now. Differences arose between Staggs and the board as they examined him for the chief role, sources said. The board will "broaden the scope of its succession planning process to identify and evaluate a robust slate of candidates for consideration," a company statement says.Iger plans to step down from his role as chief executive and chairman in June 2018.

Counting the votes... Age of Ultron is the victor.

reply

Disney's Star Wars branch had better be taking notes, Marvel notes and copy them as much as possible.

reply

Looking back, 2015 was the better year in blockbusters and AOU was the best of the year. So, logically it's far and away a leader.

reply

Mad Max Fury Road was much better than Age of Ultron, as was Kingmsen the Secret Service.
