Age of Ultron = Best Blockbuster of 2015

These Collider guys get it.

They break down all the Comic Book Movies Of 2015 and rightfully label Age of Ultron as a great film. They do point out shortcomings as well as strengths.

They say (and I agree) that Ultron needed to be set up better. It's also worth noting that the Hulkbuster/Hulk fight, the freeways showdown/train sequence between Cap and Ultron and the finale are three of the greatest scenes ever seen in any sequel, no matter the genre.

reply

It's certainly one of my faves. Happy new year, elle-nino.

reply

Happy New Year and many happy returns!

reply

All the beautiful sentiments in the world weigh less than this movie's lovely action.

reply

They are only judging comic book movies, not blockbusters in general. I know Schnepp would definitely say Mad Max is the best blockbuster of the year (along with the rest of the guys, who would definitely put Star Wars up there as well).

But, superhero movies were pretty bad this year, so saying that this movie was a standout isn't saying much at all.

reply

Kingsman is probably the best CBM since Batman Begins imo.

reply

They are so on the mark about how enjoyable Age of Ultron is and how well it turned out.

I wasn't a fan of Kingsman, however.

reply

Wherever there is a Marvel character, there is an opportunity for a great film.

reply

He conquers who endures. Marvel did this best in 2015.

reply

In order to attain the impossible, one must attempt great things. Whedon did that with this movie.

reply

AoU finale one of the greatest CBM action sequences ever?...

LOL.

reply

No it's not. You honestly don't believe this. You're fooling no one than yourself.

Rasengan!

It is amazing that a DC fanboi like you can type as well as you can, considering you are sitting on a guy's d!ck while sucking on another one and double-fisting two others.

Actually, I used the wrong word. It shouldn't be, "amazing." It should be, "typical."

Typical manchild who lives in mom's basement.

You aspire to live in your mom's basement. Right now you are still sucking on her teat and having her change your diaper.

So, justanicknamed, fancy meeting you on here. I see you're just as obnoxious here as you are on the Roman Polanski board. However, there your obnoxiousness takes the form of sanctimony, while here you're just a jerk.

For the record, I enjoyed your little cartoon movie. Glad I waited til it hit Netflix though.

Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Yes
Spectre - No. Only the opening was good in that movie
Mad Max: Fury Road - Yes
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 - Nah
Kingsman: The Secret Service - Agreed
Furious 7 - Debatable
Jurassic World - You don't know much about movies if you think so
The Peanuts Movie - Didn't see
Cinderella - Hmm
Creed - Apples and oranges
Chappie - Haha, you're an idiot
The Martian - Sure
Fifty Shades of Grey - Trolling, or just retarded?
The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water - I actually liked that, but no
The Man from U.N.C.L.E. - About equal
The Revenant - So you list good movies with crappy ones, don't know whether to take you seriously or not?
Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation - Fair enough, i can see why you would say that, although i personally don't agree on this one. Liked Ghost Protocol more

In order to succeed, we must first believe that we can.

reply

Force Awakens was a fine re-tool but AOU was clearly the better movie.

I accept your surrender.

reply

Have to say that AoU was the very best film of 2015, not just blockbuster.

reply

Not many people wants to argue that fact at this point it would seem.

Disney (NYSE:DIS) is set to announce its first-quarter financial results after the market closes on Tuesday (2/9). Given the latest blockbuster success of Star Wars, we are looking to see if Disney can harvest the force and beat earnings estimates. Analysts expects the media and entertainment giant to report a year-over-year rise in both earnings per share and revenue. However, cord cutting and declining cable subscriptions may overshadow its Star Wars success, and future revenue guidance will be the key metric for the stock price. Analysts estimates expect Disney to announce earnings of $1.45 per share and revenue of $14.75 billion for the quarter.
