AoU is a strong Christian Movie

Yep. Good to know.

A Christian review for those that care.

http://www.movieguide.org/reviews/avengers-age-of-ultron.html

Very strong moral worldview with strong Christian, redemptive content where characters fight to defend humanity, some sacrifice their lives for others (sometimes in Christian symbolic ways), moral relativism is seen as wrong, and there’s an emphasis on teamwork, goodness, traditional values, and family, with many biblical allusions or references, with very strong patriotic content as the Avengers invite military veterans to their party, and Captain America is a clean-cut and admirable hero and leader, but many of the scriptural allusions are made by the villain who has a “god complex” and compares his demonic, genocidal plan to the biblical story of Noah, plus a reference to evolution; 10 obscenities (mostly a** and “h” and “d” words, plus one “s” word that’s rebuked) and one strong profanity; strong action violence.........

Summary:

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON pits the superhero Avengers team against Ultron, a robot with artificial intelligence who believes peace can only be achieved on Earth if humanity is eradicated. AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON is a spectacular treat from beginning to end with a strong moral worldview and inspiring biblical allusions, but caution is advised for some action violence and brief foul language.

Damn, that's one hell of a run-on sentence. I didn't spot a single period in that mess.

Oh, I see. You put them all at the end there. Not how a period works, buddy.

Avengers: Age of Ultron, written and directed by a liberal atheist, is a conservative Christian movie. Duly noted.

I UNDERSTOOD THAT REFERENCE!

reply

I BELIEVE in this movie.

I accept your surrender.

reply

Yeah it sure is...remember that one time Jesus turned green and rampaged through Bethlehem?

reply

Jesus did "Hulk out" and physically throw out those guys selling stuff in the back of the temple.

reply

He did that?? Cripes, I thought Jose Saramago made that up...

reply

REMEMBER when somebody says "What Would Jesus Do?" flipping over tables & losing your $#!+ *IS* a PERFECTLY LEGITIMATE OPTION!

reply

Only when warranted. Agree!

reply

People were selling stuff and gambling IN A PLACE OF WORSHIP. I can't think of a single person who belongs to a religion and truly believes in it who would tolerate that, let alone the God of that religion taken human form.

*BINGO!* I'm *NOT agreeing or arguing w/ you, I'm simply saying BINGO is HUGE $$ for churches!

reply

Bingo is an excuse to get together and hang out with the other members of the church (as the Bible recommends members of the church to do), and it is not the same thing as selling stuff or gambling.

AGREED! My mom volunteered @ our churches' BINGO when I was little & even as a kid some of those adults are *STILL* my friends. I'm simply saying that regardless of the 'winnings' the church MUST 'take-in' SOME kind of legitimate profit whether its in the game or the snacks, drinks or sale of BINGO materials, if they're losing $$ it won't continue. Most of the players probably aren't even members of the church, right?

Raising money for the church would be a fundraiser and something people participate in willingly to keep it going because they believe in the cause.

reply

ABSOLUTELY, *HOWEVER* BINGO is ALSO a $$ maker & if the price of supplies & electricity aren't significantly offset or made back plus some profit, it WON'T continue (I saw it happen) Its NOT *ALL* about $$ BUT if you're hemorrhaging $$ from the event, it WILL be cut-off!

reply

I understand that. The church HAS to raise some money in order to continue weekly sermons and any other activities they want to do. That is not the part Jesus had a problem with. The problem he had was turning it into a straight up marketplace and casino.

AGREED! Also to account for the fact that lives outside the church continue beyond Sundays, they have to learn to take people as they are (a connection to this movie being "You walk out that door you're an Avenger!")

reply

I agree with that.

Its been a GREAT year for Marvel and Disney in general.

(Forget that Disney Infinity gaming misstep)

reply

I think the movie had more Jewish values. Wait maybe Islamic. No I think Buddhist. Perhaps the Norse mythology is best since they actually have the Norse gods. Point I'm making is that every religion has these same values that you list. Christians aren't "special" in that regard.

reply

Even Loki knew that the real God blesses America. He said as much in Dark World.

reply

As long as they keep it respectful we all win. Marvel knows this to be true.

This does make one ask why is Ruffalo such a liberal tool and will Marvel have to replace him as Banner after he says something stupid in the future?

reply

That's why giving it as a CHRISTmas gift is so fitting.
