Good Luck Topping This, Warner Bros.

I agree with everything but wishing them luck. I wish them no luck at all.

The action-packed flick is a thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable experience. If you're a comic book fan, it's impossible not to love this!

"Avengers: Age of Utron is proof that Marvel can do no wrong, and as they continue to add new players to the table and reshape the world in a way which keeps it feeling exciting and fresh, Warner Bros. and their plans for a DC Cinematic Universe will have to do a lot to come anywhere close to replicating the kind of quality on display here. One thing's for sure regardless: Joss Whedon will be sorely missed, and Earth's Mightiest Heroes won't be the same without him..."

Good to see so many agree. Icicles have a better chance of lasting in hell than the WB has of topping this film.

reply

Warner bros already topped this MAD MAX fury road. Everyone besides you fanboys agree that mad max *beep* on every movie marvel has done.

reply

Avengers AoU made more on its opening three days than Mad Max did to this moment to date.

reply

Most refreshingly of all, Age of Ultron specificity feels much more intimate and nuanced than its predecessor. Avengers was great as an action filled payoff to Marvel’s Phase One but this movie delivers that and so much more.

reply

Mad Max Fury Road already topped this movie.

if you're talking about DC, then there's a little know movie called The Dark Knight. watch that movie

There are better cures for insomnia but not many.

reply

what?

reply

Shouldn't be hard.

reply

Marvel simply can't be topped at this point. maybe in 2028 or later.

I'm not too impressed by all this. For instance the movie "Watchmen" from 2009 was about a few times better than this Avengers mishap imho.

reply

Agreed

A Disney statement characterizes the move as a continued centralization of film functions along with those of Pixar and Lucasfilm, though friction between Feige and Perlmutter was widely reported.

reply

Disney more or less *gets* MARVEL. These days the WB has n0 clue what to do with DC. Simple as that.

OK so A2 isn't as good as A1. Guess what? It's still a decent MARVEL movie. B v. S and SS will open big and then bomb. Rightly so.

reply

This!^ Despite how Disney is with Marvel sometimes, they overall allow Marvel to do their own thing. Whereas with WB with DC...I honestly don't know anymore. I don't understand why WB don't give DC their own movie studio instead of being so overbearing with DC's film situation?

reply

Right gljbradley, the WB used to be hands off with DC. Since 2010, that is no longer true. With the moving DC from NYC the publishing capital of the planet, to Burbank so that the WB can micromanage DC. As you can tell, overall the results are terrible.

reply

Too many cooks ruin the recipe. Plus, DC has weak character depth to start with.

reply

Indeed. It's like WB is more focused on having absolute control over DC's businesses in order to catch up to Marvel, and not allowing DC to have a say in their own properties and allowing them to do their own thing. I'm starting to think that they're too money-hungry, impatient, and controlling to give DC their own movie studio to help DC's films get a much needed boost. I could be wrong but do you realize how much of a difference and how successful DC would be if they had their own movie studio(while still being one of WB's subsidiaries)? And as you and a lot of other people are saying, the move from New York to Burbank seem to have thrown a serious monkey wrench into their system.
