Good Luck Topping This, Warner Bros.

I agree with everything but wishing them luck. I wish them no luck at all.

The action-packed flick is a thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable experience. If you're a comic book fan, it's impossible not to love this!

"Avengers: Age of Utron is proof that Marvel can do no wrong, and as they continue to add new players to the table and reshape the world in a way which keeps it feeling exciting and fresh, Warner Bros. and their plans for a DC Cinematic Universe will have to do a lot to come anywhere close to replicating the kind of quality on display here. One thing's for sure regardless: Joss Whedon will be sorely missed, and Earth's Mightiest Heroes won't be the same without him..."

The WB has no clue and no shot.

reply

Your dad didn't have a clue or shot, yet here you are..

There is nothing to see here folks.. move along now.

reply

Don't worry, DC actually lets directors have their fun with their creative control. Poor Joss Whedon couldn't handle Disney's pressure and now that AoU has come out with a lukewarm reaction, he would rather work for WB.

Just saying..

The Terminator is much better than T2: Judgement Day

Indeed.

reply

Nothing the WB can spin has even a 5% chance of matching anything Avengers. There is NO chance of them topping anything MCU.

reply

Maybe Batman is going to fight dinosaurs now instead of Superman?

reply

Sorry, but they already have.

BATMAN BEGINS, THE DARK KNIGHT and MAN OF STEEL are better than every MCU film made so far except for CAPTAIN AMERICA: WINTER SOLDIER.

Send her to the snakes!

reply

No chance whatsoever.

None.

reply

WB and Marvel shouldn't be worried about topping the other. They should both keep making their own movies with their own different tones. You idiots that turn this into some made up nerd war are quite entertaining.

reply

True. And why would anyone want WB to fail? Why not enjoy the films from both studios?

reply

Why would anyone want any movie to fail. I hated the one Twilight movie I saw but it didn't mean I wanted the others to bomb.

reply

Exactly. Friendly competition makes it better for everyone.

reply

Why does it have to be friendly? Auburn/Alabama .... Michigan/Ohio State .... Florida/FSU .... there's true hatred there but it's fun.

reply

"True hatred" is fine - right up until it crosses the line. When it becomes disrespectful is when it ruins it for everyone except for the azzholes who get off on being azzholes.

reply

I don't want DC/WB to fail because they're a 'rival studio'. No, I want their lazy, hackeyened, manufactured 'grim and gritty' garbage to fail. I don't mind dark superhero stories, but Man of Steel was just mindnumbingly stupid and heartless, and BvS and Suicide Squad look to be just as cynical as its predecessor was. They're trying to copy the 'Nolan formula' without understanding what made Batman Begins and The Dark Knight as compelling as they were. And as much as I disliked TDKR, it was nowhere near as terrible as what they're doing with their current bulk of films.

YES! Exactly what I have been trying to say this whole time! Loved the Batman: TDK trilogy by the way.

It's kind of funny when other people elsewhere have said that AoU proves Marvel is faltering quality-wise, the movie have too many characters that are not developed properly, Man of Steel showed a better understanding of action/comic book movie direction, and that Joss Whedon is a weak link within the MCU that Marvel has let go to make their movie franchise more cohesive.

Are you kidding me? Zod was amazing.
You clearly have NEVER read a single Superman comic.

"Tell me, do you bleed? You will."

reply

The Superman comics peaked with John Byrne's run three decades ago. Everything since has been spinning of wheels.
