How is it news and requires a spoiler when it's literally spelled out at the end of the movie?

reply

I thought it somewhat revealing that she referred to the future character with a masculine pronoun. Also, she suggested the next Bond won’t be a reboot but they’ll have to “figure out” how such a character survived that apparent ending in No Time To Die.

He'll be "the first gay male Bond evarrr!!" and the 100 idiots on Twitter will gleefully check off another box.

reply

Oh no, we only got 26 movies with a white male heterosexual lead and now they want to change direction. Woe is me!

reply

No idea why some people keep pushing the notion that the next Bond is going to be black, a woman, gay etc...apart from gossip on websites and forums it's never been stated anywhere officially.

Probably the same people without were wrong footed when they thought Lashana Lynch was going to retain the 007 title in the recent movie.

And to those who say that the trailers gave that impression they are right...but trailers do that all the time...for example, heroes are always shown to be in jeopardy, but we all know they will survive.

"but we all know they will survive"

Not this time...

reply

...but we know he will return, don't we? Its been made official.

I can't stand characters coming back to life. It makes stories so bland without real stakes.

But if anything good comes out of this, then maybe they'll be forced to go back to standalone stories.

reply

I've never read anything saying he should be gay but that's a good call.

We've had decades of Bond reluctantly having to bang a variety of beauties from around the world all for "king and country", even when engaged!

But a gay Bond or even a non gay Bond who had to seduce some rogue homosexual to literally pump him for information is exactly what today's audiences would enjoy seeing and feel more comfortable with.

It was hinted at in Skyfall. But I don't think it will happen.

The producers are not stupid, they are not going to mess with the formula too much, it's too lucrative. We all knew Craig was leaving the role so the ending was not that big a shock.

reply

Henry Cavill please, with Christopher Nolan directing.

reply

Henry Cavill yes!
Christopher Nolan hell no!
