Who else thought Frozen?
I'm surprised I didn't see any threads on this. Obviously this was a way darker version. But it was basically Frozen.

shareMore like Once Upon a Time Frozen. Freya becomes the Ice Queen and in the end dies trying to sacrifice herself to stop all the evil she's created.
But in reality yes a lot is similar to Disney's Frozen like her castle up in the woods
I believe that both stories are takes on a Norwegian (?) fairy tale. Patently it was popular in its day.
Is it Hans Christian Anderson? Am I completely off?
That said I don't think this would have been made if Frozen weren't the monster hit it was.
Hans Christian Andersen was Danish.

Everyone in this world thought of Frozen when seeing this. Nothing wrong with that. I liked it.
shareIt felt more Narnia then Frozen to me personally. An evil Ice Queen is freezing the earth eternally on purpose. Freya was very cold and calculated just like Queen Jadis. She even rode on a polar bear just like Jadis had her chariot drawn by polar bears.

my sister thought so too, just watched it yesterday
shareI'm not sure are you serious or not, but it's an adaptation of the fairy tale The Snow Queen, written by Hans C. Anderson: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Snow_Queen
Just like Frozen is an adaptation of the same story.
(I started with "not sure are you serious" because I'm not from USA, but from Europe, and in my country Snow Queen is still very popular as a bedtime story for children).
Why you assuming that everyone who watches movies like this also watch a bunch of children's movies?
Who else thought Frozen?
actually adorzoya is right ... this movie, and possibly Frozen, is an adaption of The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen.
And yes, I'm also European and this story is well known to us :)
I grew up with Andersen stories.
