Just got back from seeing this a second time and I love it. You have the extremely hot Emily Blunt and Charlize Theron looking like goddesses seriously what's not to love? Though I certainly felt the absence of Snow White. Does anyone know why she wasn't brought back? Did Kirsten Stewart refuse to return? I really wish she was back in this film. Anywho I must say I love this take on the Snow White story even more than the Disney version. I hope we get a Huntsman 3 with the return of Snow White.
Kristen Stewart was to reprise her role as Snow White in a sequel, but once her affair with SWATH director Rupert Sanders went viral, she was dropped. Instead of replacing her, Universal just decided to drop the Snow White character altogether, and go with a re-worked sequel.
THWW continues to stay on course for a worldwide box office of roughly $160 million (SWATH generated $401 million). With a production cost of $115 million (excluding advertising) it's highly unlikely a third sequel will be produced, with or without Ms Stewart.
Last month’s “The Huntsman: Winter’s War” release was an origins tale headlined by Chris Hemsworth that tanked at the box office. “I read a few scripts,” Stewart recalls. “None of them were good. None of them were greenlight-able. And I had a meeting with Universal about the places where the story could go. Maybe Chris was more into it. I actually don’t f—ing know.”
She insists that the tabloid coverage of her relationship with Sanders didn’t factor into Universal’s decision-making. “It wasn’t a situation where I got kicked off a movie because I got in trouble,” she says. “We had been in talks months after that about making something work, and it never came together.”
Stewart found out about the sequel in a press release. “I was like, ‘OK, cool,’ ” she says with a laugh. Of her relationship with Universal, she jokes, “We hadn’t spoken in a long time, but I didn’t know we had broken up.” The studio did reach out to ask if she would appear in a cameo as Snow White. She told them, “I might just leave that be. I was really into that, but — ” she adds with a smirk. “So now I’m like … ‘Thank God.’ ” (Universal did not respond to a request for comment.)

Oh my friggin GOD, why do people STILL believe in that pile of crap!? Because they read all those obnoxious tabloids, and their 100% made up fake stories! She was NEVER attached to a sequel - she said in a interview back in 2011, that she was only contractually obligated to do one movie, SWATH, and at that point, there were no talks about a sequel/prequel, it first came up later under the promo tour, where the studio reckoned they could probably make more money out of the franchise.
As Kristen says in the article, she was send several manuscripts, but none of them worked in her opinion, and none of them should've been green lighted - even the originally script writer left the project - so she declined to reprise her role as Snow White. Then the studio asked her to do at least a cameo, which is confirmed by Jessica Chastain on one of her social media pages, but Kristen turned that down as well, saying: "I think I'll pass this one over" and that's it, and that's why she isn't in this movie! Enough said.
So to sum this up: She wasn't fired, she wasn't left out, no SHE turned down the scripts send to her, basically because of bad writing, and SHE was the one that was right all along - it was SO bad that she didn't even wanted to do a cameo. It's a turd, a blatant disaster, and she knew it!
- Clever girl... ;) ___________________________________ But that's just my opinion. 💀

Back in 2012, Universal announced publicly that a SWATH sequel would be filmed and Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth and Kristen Stewart (they had all accepted Universal's offer) would reprise their respective roles. A SWATH2 board (as the sequel was known then) appeared at IMDb and many of the participants, myself included, speculated whether Snow White would be turned evil by the mirror, or whether she would end up with the Huntsman, Prince William, or neither. Then the 'scandal' hit, going quickly viral. After apparently some sole-searching, Universal announced the sequel would go forward, but without the Snow White character. Representatives stated the studio "...wanted to be disassociated from the whole mess," and that Kristen Stewart, along with Rupert Sanders, would not be coming back. Many, many posters at that time stated without Kristen, they would not be seeing SWATH's sequel (and apparently were true to their word as THWW continues to sink). When the sequel became known as "The Huntsman...," the SWATH2 board was taken down by IMDb. Those are the events as I lived them.
A few posters at THWW board stated Kristen was subsequently offered a minor cameo style role in THWW (I believe the time period for the offer was late 2014), and that she declined. One even stated that cameo role was mentioned at Wikipedia, but has since been removed (I never saw it, but found no reason to not believe the poster). For reasons I do not understand, some rewriting of history is apparently being attempted.
In my country the scandal broke whilst the movie was still in the cinemas. I remember posting a thread on IMDb SWATH (something like) "Did the Kirsten Stewart scandal turn Twilight fans away". Because of the outrage by some Twilight fans over the Stewart/Patterson breakup and cheating.
Now yes, some people like yourself posted several times that a without Stewart in the next film they wouldn't see it. HOWEVER many, many, many more fans had stated that if Stewart DID appear, then they wouldn't see the sequel.
The posts on the SWATH IMDb were slightly over whelming about how much they disliked Kirsten Stewart as Snow White! For the record, I thought most of the comments about her were a bit harsh.
So with all the scandal AND the lack of love for her character portrayal, it might have meant that the studio didn't fight too much for her to come back.

Not only did the studio not fight to keep her, it looks like they re-engineered the sequel to keep the Snow White character, thus KS, completely out of it -- other than the aforementioned cameo which, as others have stated, she declined.
Rest in peace, Roger Ebert. You were the best.

Well it sounds like she has become quite arrogant and pretentious if she feels she is too good to at least do a cameo. I personally thought the film was great but it would've been even more great to have Snow White back even if it was just one scene. I'm glad Hemsworth and Theron weren't uptight about returning Theron was amazing hot as hell as the villian as was Blunt.
