Actually, it's both!

It mixes a bit of a prequel on how Huntsman became what he is, and a bit of a sequel on what happened after the Snow White story...

The entire first 26 minutes of THWW occur before any events in SWATH (either the prequel or setup portion). Then the narrator states, "Days turn to years." And then the post-SWATH or sequel portion of this picture begins.
