Great casting for the most part, especially the female leads.

And I liked the dwarf FX. It was hard to think they were played by normal-sized people.

It works as a standalone movie.

My thoughts exactly! Maybe I went in with very low expectations and ended up liking the movie more than I expected. It's no masterpiece but it was fun.
