The kids literally saw their parents cut into pieces. But when they were all haul into the cart. Look like nothing more than a bad lunch been serve up to them.
Are the kids this feking cold up there in the north ?
Then Chris accent seem like he work on it for less than obe facking druken night out with the scottish lads.
Come on. . Is so feking terrible all he ever does is one sigle effect words of scottish accent.

It really was terrible.

I'm Scottish and every time Jessica Chastain spoke, I winced.
The actual accent was bad enough (fcking absoloutly awful actually) but the way and order in which she used words was worse.

Lucca Brasi sleeps with the fishes!!!

Im pretty bad at noticing bad acting or accents in big budget movies, but even I was scratching my head at Hemsworth and Jessica Chastain's attempt at a scottish accent or whatever it was supposed to be. I was like "man, is my hearing impaired or does this sound really wrong?"

Why on Earth would they make them use such accents when it was obvious they couldn't pull it off. It was fairytale land. They could've just used their regular accents and maybe sound like actual human beings. I don't remember Kristen Stewart putting such a weird accent for the first movie.

reply

the whole thing was terrible. it was such a bore as well.

reply

Chris's accent was worse in the second film. I'm Scottish and sometimes I didn't know what he was saying. Lol

reply

Hahahahah That was hilarious.. This is one hell of a *beep* movie i just saw and accents more like gibberish all the way.. :)

reply

Didn't watch the whole thing, but where did they even pick up the accent? Seems no one around them talks like that. And they bascially were raised there, so they likely would have started to talk like everyone else.

reply

Exactly this. Look, I'm an American...I've spent time in the UK and I watch a fair amount of UK tv, but I wouldn't hold myself out as an expert. Nevertheless the second Chastain opened her mouth I was like noooooooooooo...

I didn't remember Hemsworth's accent from the first one, but that was bad too. I was like are you from London, Sydney, Manchester, Glasgow...at different points could have been any of these (seemed to change from word to word).

They let Brydon just be liltingly Welsh (yay!) unlike the other dwarves without it being issue, so why did they have to be supposedly Scottish? So weird.

Can't we all just do our normal accents, please? Or just some vague RP if it comes to that?

reply

Yes, the accents contributed nothing to the story line...

reply

I'm watching it right now, and can't believe it! I couldn't tell right off that it was even supposed to be Scottish...

reply

I'm watching right now and honestly don't know if I can continue subjecting myself to this nonsense. Such bad accents. It's not necessary. Ugh.
