It was a decent film, sure. But 8.7 is ridiculous. That is higher than most other Disney films, Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc etc...
This film does not compare to ANY of the greats!

Scores tend to go down over time. I also think you're being harsh by saying 8.7 is "ridiculous" or that it doesn't compare to any. Don't treat these scores like they're God's word.

I am not treating them as if they are "god's word" lol, I am treating them as if they are the opinions of the public.
I don't think it's harsh, I am just being honest!
Was an OK film, but nowhere near as good as other Disney classic.
Even Tangled, Inside Out and Wreck it Ralph were better than this one.

After seeing Coco once in the theater I thought it was just OK as well. After seeing it a 2nd time at home I fell in love with it. It's an outstanding film with a great message. A 2nd viewing may improve your opinion of it, as it did for me.

I have to agree this is a OK film but nowhere near the best animated films like Toy Story, Wall-e, Finding Nemo etc I wouldn't give it more tan a 7.

I thought it was great. In fact much better than the other movies people mention in the comments here, including you, perhaps except Toy Story. Best cartoon from Disney/Pixar since Toy Story III. But that's just my opinion. If it pleases you it's now at 8.4.

This movie has more depth and is more emotionally involving than your usual Pixar film.

Well, it is down to 8.4 now.
It is a very good movie, but I would have put "Encanto" slightly above it.
