Pixar was making a movie called Newt that got scrapped because Rio was to similar.
Is Coco in any danger of the same fate because of The Book of Life?
Have you ever noticed that the people who say "DC is for adults and Marvel is for kids", are kids?
Well, Cars 2, Brave and The Good Dinosaur all had production problems like Newt, and didn't get cancelled. Coco doesn't seem to have any problem and it seems like Pixar doesn't worry if it is too similar to Book of Life.
shareRio was actually quite a success which meant that Pixar pulled the plug because it was also having production problems.
Book of life wasn't that successful, it did fine but it's not remembered. The sad irony is that book of life was actually surprisingly good. Still there is no reason for coco to be cancelled
