Black Sails Vs Pirates Of The Carribean

As A Kid, Pirates Of The Carribean Was My Favorite Pirate Story And I Still Love It Of Course Since It’s Great Fun, But Now As An Adult, It’s Black Sails, Because It Shows Us What The Pirates And The Pirate Life Were REALLY Like

Well I don't think real pirates had a smile full of platinum white teeth but I get what you are saying. What is shown seem to be pretty much accurate. But there's also a lot that isn't shown.

For me, I like how it's a very clever fusion of R.L. Stevenson's Treasure Island AND historical facts. I was drawn to this because of the book and ended up learning a ton about boats and people that really existed, events that really happened. Like the Urca de Lima and it's shipwreck for example. I knew nothing about that before watching this series.

Slight edge to POTC although I appreciate Black Sails for really emphasizing the griminess and brutality.

Black Sails. I've come to the conclusion the first POTC movie is the only actually good one. It's the only one I can re-watch without getting bored. Depp was great as the character, but the movies became such bloated messes. A few good parts, but the first is the only one I care to revisit now.

Less nudity in Pirates.
