I dont think Flint will make it. I dont know why other than because he's a fan favourite. I think he'll get a spectacular death. Eleanor I think will survive but be alone and bitter. I'm not sure about the others. Just kicking back with my popcorn to enjoy the final ride.
Spoilers for Treasure Island ahead, so read at your own peril...
Flint HAS to make it though... this story is a prequel to Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson and Flint does play a kind of major role (to an extent) in the novel. At least in my mind he has to make it because I've always assumed that this series is set a decade or two before Treasure Island.
Though there is a part of me that thinks that they may actually set up Black Sails to be a direct prequel to Treasure Island, wherein as Black Sails ends, the story of Treasure Island would transpire maybe a few weeks or months into the future of Black Sails' ending. If that's the case, then Flint could really be a toss up by the end of Black Sails, if you're familiar with Treasure Island.
No wait...you hate Eleanor so I hope she lives happily ever after for getting your imaginary boyfriend, Vane, knocked off, and for punching him the head, then smacking the crap out of him when he was chained up like the animal that he was.
That's how you decide what you want to happen on the show? You can't even have an opinion of your own, you just think of what I want and go with the opposite? That's truly pitiful.
I hope Woodes Rogers decapitates Blackbeard to save Eleanor!!!! THAT WOULD BE SO EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!! And I would love this show and sing its praises until my death.
...But then during the credits we'll get a bonus clip of Anne Bonny sneaking into Eleanor's cabin and slitting her throat. Then I would hate the show. I bet the stupid writers would give themselves a pat on the back for being so "progressive" since female characters were featured. They would think that women killing each other is a positive message for their daughters.
Eleanor is the villain of this series. She will definitely suffer in the end. The fact that you see her as a hero is proof of how misguided you are. Her point is that she is the most ruthless, devious, and manipulative pirate of them all. Even more so though than Flint or Silver. At least currently. Blackbeard will be killed by Rogers I'm guessing because they left out Maynard. I highly doubt it will be to save Eleanor though. Maybe set up by her.
A villain is a person who has no moral qualms about anything as long as it gets them what they want. That's Eleanor. She's not on anyone's side other than her own. You're on the team of being an irrational misandrist. I'm proud to not be on your team. You're no different than the shovanist men you claim to hate. A perfect example of hypocrisy.

Very well put. Eleanor is a bad woman. She only cares about herself, and she has no more problem killing to get what she wants than any of the pirates. She wrote her father off long before the events of the series started, pretended to be a loving daughter to have an excuse to go after Vane, waved her tail at Woodes to get him to take her back to the Caribbean, and betrayed his trust to murder Vane. She's a dreadful woman, and I think somehow she'll figure out a way to survive till the end. She'll probably wind up like Hag Straun in James Clavell's book Noble House, an ugly old woman taking out her false teeth and chomping them at people and still killing anyone she thinks is in her way.
Zanza really seems to think that Charles Vane, a historical figure, was some how NOT going to receive his real-life death of execution by hanging. Woodes Rogers was totally gonna pardon him and give him a plot of land to farm tobacco and stuff, and he would have gotten away with it too, if it hadn't been for that evil conniving Eleanor!!! What were Woodes Rogers exact harsh words for Eleanor's ultimate betrayal of his trust by speeding up the trial and execution anyway... "Your enemies are my enemies, and let them come"???? LOL. There is no daylight between them. He agreed with her actions, it's what he would have done. Just let Zanza have her fantasy world. The end of Charles Vane is the death of piracy! #TeamEleanor
What's with the comment about false teeth.... Isn't Zanza an old granny?? Does she hate Eleanor/Hannah New for being beautiful as well...

That's an illiterate comment. I compared Eleanor to Hag Struan, a character in James Clavell's book Noble House, and Hag Struan would take out her false teeth and chomp them at people. I might have known you were not well read. All that hate doesn't leave much time for acquiring wisdom.
I like women and I adore Eleanor Guthrie so I'm a "misandrist"?? Prove how liking Eleanor the best is "misandry".
So do you think the Gambino crime family is "heroic"???? Or Al Capone?? What about drug cartels and ISIS??? You're the irrational one. Those groups and figures are today what the pirates are in Black Sails, and they are not the heroes of this story. They're anti-heroes. ISIS doesn't want to live in modern civilization and stop raping and killing, and neither do Flint and the pirates. If you haven't noticed Flint went off the deep end and is killing even more people now just for the sake of killing. The pirates also engage in gang rape. They're savages. Furthermore, pirates make a living by robbing and murdering people and reselling stolen goods, but you're saying Eleanor is the villain, because she has goals and things she wants to achieve????? lol bye.
If Charles Vane or Captain Flint or John Silver is your hero then you're a really sick person. Morality on the show is intentionally blurred and there really isn't a hero, but Eleanor is the closest thing to a hero. People only hate her because she's a woman, but they excuse every violent act the men commit, including gang rape. Eleanor is the sheriff in town and she's helping bring law and order--civilization--back to Nassau, and her team wins whether you like it or not. Although 18th century law is barbaric, pirates are worse. Law is still better than anarchy, and murders and gang rapes being carried out in the streets. Just like Flint said, Charles Vane is a dead thief at the end of a long rope. If he was some great guy he wouldn't have been executed.
Oh C'Mon now, Eleanor is a bad woman and so is Hannah because she tapped poor Vane in the nose when he was chained up like an animal and made it bleed.
Eleanor sure got under Zanza's extremist christian skin, didnt she. Maybe it's because she's a 'bad girl' who likes sex.
Agreed. I know Black Sails has taken liberties with history but historically Jack Rackham is hanged I believe, Blackbeard should be dead already, and Anne vanishes from history (there is no record of her release or execution).
For the Treasure Island crew John Silver and Billy Bones have to survive. I imagine one of the last scenes will be Flint burying the treasure and killing the men. Depending of if they tease Treasure Island or not I guess it could end with Flint dying the bar and Billy giving the map to Jim Hawkins
Flint was long dead by the time Treasure Island got started but they could certainly tease Treasure Island with a time jump and Billy going into Hawkins' inn.
The first season takes place in 1715, and i don't believe three years has passed on the show. Blackbeard was killed in 1718. Calico jack was hanged in 1720, and charles vane in 1721.

Well if they go by the book then Flint will live. It's been a while but I'm pretty sure they mention that he drank himself to death in Savannah a while after losing the Walrus. I would say a good deal of the crew survives, especially those like DeGroot who always hated Flint and will surely take part in the mutiny. Obviously Silver and Billy are the only ones for sure though. Rackham will probably be hanged in the last episode with Bonney escaping due to pregnancy(whether real or false). Blackbeard will most likely die in the final battle with Rogers and the British.
Flint John silver Billy bones Israel hands (coming up in season 4) Ben gunn
Those are the characters from treasure island who appear on the show. They've already played it a bit loose with historical figures, hanging charles vane a full six years ahead of schedule...
Edward teach- 1718 Charles vane- 1721 'calico' jack rackham- 1720 Anne bonny- 17?? (The last record of her is in port royal, 1720. Some evidence suggests her freedom was bought by her father, and she lived until the early 1780s.) Woodes rogers- 1732
Whether the show, with only ten episodes in a season, will take the time to follow blackbeard up to virginia and his fateful encounter with robert maynard, i kinda doubt, especially since there has been no word of anyone being cast to play maynard.
