How did I miss this?

The actor that plays Woodes Rogers also played Aurthur Dayne on GOTs. Can't believe I just now put that together

reply

And Billy will now be Sams brother. I hope they do a Roberts Rebellion prequel and the get him back as Dayne again.

reply

that prequel would be short, like a season though because its a very short war

There's way too much material to show during Robert's Rebellion for it to be one season.
For example, I'll use Better Call Saul as a reference. We don't see the origin of the name Saul Goodman in the show. He's still Jimmy McGill.
Season 1 of RR would probably show the buildup, the Tourney at Harrenhal being the big one, with maybe one inaugural battle.

The Emperor has no clothes.

Well they did kind of show the origin of the name... it was in one of the first couple of episodes. Jimmy is running the scam with his buddy in the alley where Jimmy lures a target into an alley where Jimmy's friend is pretending to be passed out drunk. I forgot the actual conversation verbatim, but the target asks Jimmy what his name is (or something similar) and Jimmy replies "s'all good man!" I always understood that to be the origin of the name.

reply

Hm. I vaguely remember that. I guess I still have my point, but we haven't seen the founding of Saul Goodman's firm and the character Jimmy portrays/becomes.

there is still alot more the better call saul can do that a Rob Rebellion. We knew very little from Sauls past while we know a lot on the show alone about the Rebellion.

spoilers for Game of Thrones since its not the got board If anything the tourney at Harrenhal would be the first episode maybe even ending it with Lyanna being taken if not end the first episode with the tourney and start the next with her being taken. Aerys killing everyone then the banners being called could be half an episode. What is there 5 main battles that happened including the sack, which would take up most of the rest of the season. (better if there were 13 episodes instead of ten or how they are doing s7/8 with there being 6 or 7 episodes) making it be two seasons max. Between the battles we would also get what happened at Storm's End with Stannis and Davos ending after the sack. We would also get the Dragonstone stuff with young Viserys and Dany being born. We already got some Tower of Joy stuff and am sure we will get more but that the Rebellion.

Thats it, Harrenhal, 4 main battles with the battle of the Trident being the big one, the Iron Islands doing their small thing, the sack, tower of joy Eddard baby....., Robert becoming king. Thats is. It lasted from 282 to 283. Comparing that to the battle of the 5 kings which started in 298 with Joffrey becoming king at the end of season 1 and ends what near the end of season 3 but thats with 5 kings stuff from north of the wall all the way south and stuff in the east. With just stuff going on from the north down to the south nothing else it will be more then enough in 13 episode maybe a few more to add some filler because we get to episodes that nothing but talking or riding.

reply

Yes, that would be great.
