...show took a new direction. Have a feeling we will get episodes that are all over the place the next two seasons. I don't think we will see the main characters in one prison together again...

shareI thought season 5 sucked. The only episode that was consistently good was the season finale.
The rest of the season was pretty much what last season was already. They renegotiated the deals with the main cast, most of whom got awards out of the first seasons, so they cost them waaaay too much now. So instead of getting cohesive storylines, we get a bunch of actrextras like the skinheads and all the new Latinas and COs, filling up the episodes with BS jokes and 2 minutes scenes with no plot, and all the flashbacks about just anything as long as it can be about a main character *without* the expensive actress so we get a lot of teenagers.
So maybe they figured out that by splitting the actresses, they could do several episodes with only a quarter of the main cast? I don't know but they should either work on their storylines or just give up on the show.
I agree. My coworkers kept saying how awful it was, so I put off watching it. I binge watched the crap out of it this season. I think I like variety more than most maybe.
