Horrible workplace (spoiler I guess)

All the employees are a bunch of spoiled brats who have no respect for adults.

(1). I would never hire someone as old as Ben without giving him some kind of payment and benefits. On the other hand, they have no problem spending money on stupid and unnecessary things for the office.

(2). Sending an elderly person, who could be their grandfather, to fetch eight cups of coffee is unbelievably impudent. I would slap the person who gave that order. Plus, they let him clean the table by himself.

(3). Jules is not a bad person, but she can be disrespectful. First, she is responsible for Ben not getting paid. Second, she doesn't have the time or decency to devote even a few minutes to him. It makes me wonder why she agreed to launch the intern program in the first place. In her defense, her attitude towards Ben improves as time goes on. Third, she seems to lack respect for adults in general. Her attitude towards her mother is excessive and borders on abusive. She talk negative about her in front of co-workers and friends, and behaving rudely and impatiently when she talk with her in the phone.

To point 1: hollywood simply decided to portray the millenial workforce in this way, and then it became a widespread trend. You can see it in Parks & Recreation and Modern Family as well.

It is interesting what you say about Hollywood leading the way; this is the first time I've heard this argument. I know that the design of many new technologies has been influenced by science fiction movies. Hollywood definitely influences real life, even if not in a significant way.

They portray the millennial workforce quite accurately. Regarding Parks & Recreation, I watched only a few episodes, but from what I remember, it's a kind of traditional workplace - maybe with some millennial workers .

In the later seasons a big tech company moves to Pawnee and it is then that they show us many workers who fit into this stereotype - in a couple of episodes when they are dealing with that conglomerate.
