How graphic are the sex scenes?

Like, is it full of nudity?

reply

no nudity.

One episode of Banshee is probably more graphic than the entire season of Jessica Jones.

It's hot... but not as hot as the night Johnny Viti got married...

reply

Not even a hint of a boob

Completely pointless

reply

Yes, but Banshee is just an awesome show.

Where does Michael Jackson keeps his porn?
In his pedo-filing cabinet!

reply

Ever watch a sex scene on the CW, where they're gyrating but you never see anything? Same thing on Jessica Jones.

What's really hilarious is some prudes actually thought the show's sex was too graphic. Now, I have zero problem with people who don't want to see sexual content -- but I do ask that people at least have some perspective and not compare this to an HBO show when the sex content is objectively closer to network TV.

Pride is not the opposite of shame, but its source. True humility is the antidote to shame.

I mean, let's consider that Daredevil and Luke Cage also had moments of nudity or sex scenes. In Daredevil, I can count two instances of nudity and sex: Matt's sparing match at Fogwell's with Elektra in a flashback in "Kinbaku", and when Karen changes into a dry shirt in front of Matt in "Into the Ring". Likewise, Luke Cage saw Luke have a one-night stand with Misty Knight in the first episode. And I see very little criticism of those moments I listed.

reply

They are relatively aggressive but not graphic. They certainly convey what they're supposed to.

reply

So the sex is very vigorous?

reply

Between Jessica and Luke, I'd say 'enthusiastic'.

Basically, the thing you have to consider between those two, is that they are both super-powered people. They thought they were alone with their powers and so when it comes to sex with 'normal' people, they would have had to have nerfed themselves pretty seriously in order to not hurt their partners.

Then the two of them meet up and realise that they can't hurt each other and that they they can go full tilt... so they go full tilt.

There was an oral sex scene between other characters a couple of episodes after that, which a couple of people came on the boards to complain about because they thought it was too graphic, which is laughable because all you see is the female character moaning and the male character's head moving stupidly under the sheets.

The Netflix shows can be a bit more graphic than the Marvel movies, but that doesn't mean going all the way. And if the actors have a no-nudity clause in their contract, well, they have to work with that too.

reply

Yea that's probably a good word for it. They were handcuffed by no nudity but I think the intensity(and a little bit of awkwardness) is there.

The MCU is typically very chaste, and Jessica Jones strays a little away from that so I think that's partly why Jessica Jones feels more explicit than it actually is. That and the gritty tone of the show.

reply

It works given Jessica is a sexual character.

Daredevil is where I don't get it. Matt supposedly is a pussy hound and we don't see him screwing Claire and when Elektra happens its barely CW sex. If they are trying to emphasize Matt's Catholicism and him being old fashion in his sexual liaisons i understand that.

reply

OP
Not nearly graphic enough. Kinda boring.
Much like the rest of the show.

reply

Doesn't need to be graphic. And "boring" probably means "not enough action scenes or explosions to draw me away from my phone".
