Worst super hero show ever

This show shouldn't have taken so many episodes. In reality JJ would have killed Killgrave after 4-5 episodes. Why keep dragging it on and on?

You spelled Gotham wrong.

Jessica Jones is damaged goods. Just think.

Was kidnapped, controlled, abused, raped mentally and physically, and now the only way she can keep a facade of normality is with the "help" of alcohol. On top of that, she have superhuman strength.

She's highly unstable. If I'd knew a person like her lives in my neighborhood, I'd move, honestly. Yes, in the movie we all love her, exactly for those reasons. In real life... not so much. :P

Now, how could you expect reasoning or logic from an abused alcoholic with mental issues?

reply

Damaged goods is all fine but making her a completely unlikable character and writing her supporting cast badly just kills this show.

reply

For some, I suppose. But I was fascinated by the vulnerabilities and flaws made so obvious in all the characters. I could relate to how unlikeable JJ was, especially. Life can do that to you. I don't know any other Marvel characters that are so relatable because they are so flawed. I didn't exactly find this series pleasant to watch, but I was fascinated by the darkness of the characters' struggles. I didn't like the characters, either, but I was intrigued by them. That's an atypical approach, and I appreciated it.

To each his own.

I think most people would agree that the writing in this show is extraordinary for the "Super Hero" genre and is even great by any show's standards. Just because you find her "completely unlikeable" doesn't mean that's fact, and there are tons of moments in the show where you see she is a sympathetic character.

They should've just hired a hitman, maybe Punisher, to take Kilgrave out with a sniper. He wouldn't even see it coming.

reply

THEY HAD NO IDEA WHERE HE WAS. And Jessica wanted him alive to exonerate Hope. Jesus. Did you people even watch the show?

Oh, and 'they should have just hired a hitman'. Do YOU know a hitman? Do you realize how STUPID that sounds?

reply

Yeah. If you want to find a hitman, you're better off finding a hitman if you are someone like Wilson Fisk than say, Jessica Jones.

reply

Some of the posters here really frustrate me because it's obvious they were only half paying attention when watching.

'Why didn't they just hire a sniper!?'

They even TALKED about sniping him in the show.

1) Simpson points out that setting up a sniper requires knowing where Kilgrave will be so they can prepare.

2) The only lead they had on Kilgrave's location was via the junkie, and Kilgrave was meeting him at a random location each time, so they couldn't prep an area beforehand.

3) They chose not to outright kill him, because capturing him was the only way to exonerate Hope and get her out of prison.

4) Even if it wasn't for Hope, Kilgrave could have had people commanded to commit suicide or do violent things if he's killed, as a backup.

5) They didn't know he had a private security detail with him, which foiled his capture even after they successfully tranquilized him and sped away in the van

6) Simpson decides he IS going to just kill him (like a hitman would). How's that go?

In addition to any of this, Jessica had good reasons NOT to kill him, because he always had failsafes and backups. She could have killed him with one punch, but as he pointed out to her, if she did it, there would probably be a sudden rash of suicides afterward.

Anyway, point is, they definitely talked about killing him in the show There are reasons why they couldn't, and Simpson even tried to go about it anyway. After Hope killed herself, Jessica had no reason to NOT kill him (other than collateral damage), but it STILL wasn't that easy. She had to find him. Luke was used against her. Etc.

If posters here had paid attention to the show or just used their brains a little bit, they wouldn't have these stupid complaints. This show is very well written and complex and they directly address the issues that people seem to have with it.

And another good reason is the fact that no one, not even Kilgrave himself, completely understood how his powers worked.

lets be real, what did you expect when you got Daredevil where you could go to the bathroom and go back, and still miss nothing.

this show had a lot more going on then fight scenes so it was boring to others.

i for one liked it more the daredevil, when you repeat fight scenes they lose the build up, why i always enjoyed banshee fight scenes more, you never saw them coming and felt like it was an actual fight.

reply

look bro, i know common sense is actually a very rare thing, but to come online and post idiotic crap like this, i envy your guts.

"I am all that has been, and is, and shall be..."

I applaud anyone that tells the truth even when it is something they should blindly be a fan of... we need more true to shape what the MCU delivers. If we all blindly clap, there will never be course corrections.

JJ ain't bad. Not perfect but better than most hero shows.

Worst? Well, you have the old school stinkers like Shazam, Isis, Batman(West), Hulk, and Spiderman(81) that were all pretty lame if mostly due to the era. But then there are the current shows that are lesser shows like Arrow, Flash, and Supergirl. Those shows are for paint huffers. All of the above are candidates for Worst Super Hero Show. JJ is nowhere near as stupid.

In fact, JJ is better than most of the half-decent hero shows out now. I like AoS, Gotham, and Agent Carter but JJ is a bit better than those are currently (AoS was better at its best for while). DD still the tops, though.

reply

But hey, I made it half way through Ep 1 before shutting it off.

reply

It is weak, especially compared to Daredevil. However Legends of Tomorrow takes the cake for worst superhero show ever. It is a cringefest.
