Season 3: another show ruined by social justice and SJWs
I'm done with this show.
shareYou don't think black people are realistic?
shareWhat parts are you referring to? I just downloaded the first 2 eps but haven't watched it yet. S2 sucked for sure though compared to S1.
shareCould you at least provide some examples of SJWness? other than a black actor as a lead i cant see any so far.
shareFucking racist piece of shit. Having a black lead is not, in and of itself, an attempt at social justice
Mahershala is a great actor. I'm enjoying his work on the show so far
If anything the first two episodes have shown that Pizzolato is not an SJW. He could have included WAY more racial story threads and could have made Wayne Hays a liberal who gives long speeches about white privilege or shit like that. But his character is subtle and identifies as a Republican (according to episode 2)
They also had Hays and his son give each other a look of "WTF?" when the white SJW reporter was blathering on about intersectonality. Not an SJW show so far, IMO.
shareHe may be,but the OP never indicated why he thought it was a SJW show. Your assertion that his view is based on race is the only racist comment here, regardless if you are correct or not.
shareNot pointing fingers but "You're racist for thinking something is racist" is a common deflection/troll tactic used by racists/white supremacists.
There isn't much to deduce the likelihood of what the OP was having a "SJW" hissy fit over a year ago considering very little was known about the upcoming season other than the main character appeared to be black.
Whether or not it was actually something else similarly unreasonable or the OP was mostly trolling for reactions(likely) is kind of immaterial.
Great points, but don't expect Burk to reply
He made his weak attempt at defending the obvious racist and it failed
True, but such common reflexive, almost anticipatory deflection/troll tactics are used so often by both sides of an entrenched argument it is tiresome. For example, an immigration enforcement advocate is not necessarily a racist (might be), but instantly calling him or her a racist is expected that those arguing that they support immigration reform will often cut the chase and say something like "yes, even mentioning I'm pro immigration enforcement will get me labeled a racist" and then possibly try to turn the tables (like pre-emptive vengeance).
In this thread, I'm not sure if enough information has been shared to the point that any sort of assertion can be made. But that never seems to stop anyone...
Again not pointing fingers but feigning naivety by pretending there is some sort of equivalent opposing "side" as destructive & evil as white supremacists is also a common white supremacist tactic. I'm not a particularly PC person but honestly it's not a big secret that many among the "anti SJW" crowd are often barely disguised to flat out open white supremacists.
As I said there was decidedly little known about the upcoming season to prompt the OP's whining about "SJW" and the only obvious thing that stood out is the fact that the most predominately featured main character was a black man. I find it hard to believe that anyone can genuinely think that the OP wasn't clearly trolling/flame baiting for reactions.
Presuming a person is feigning naivety (such as me) when independently pointing out the recursive/predictable "logic" of these types of exchanges, while not pointing fingers (such as you), seems disingenuous, tiresome, and rather paranoid. That is, in such a light, nearly everything can be and probably is a destructive and evil white supremacist tactic (which gives them far too much "credit" IMHO). But to quote Tom Petty "you believe what you want to believe."
Perhaps we can bet back to discussing True Detection, Season 3?
I hardly suggested "everything" is a white supremacist tactic which is why I was specific. Specific enough to feel that it's disingenuous to suggest that I may have been arbitrarily applying anything & everything as a white supremacist tactic.
The OP started a troll topic so there isn't much discussion to get back to in this thread outside of that.
It seemed that way to me (and kind of still does). This exchange has been remarkably non-productive. Let's say we are both (erudite; or not) non-racists and don't want to empower them directly or indirectly. As for this topic, yes, pretty worthless.
"Not pointing fingers but "You're racist for thinking something is racist" is a common deflection/troll tactic used by racists/white supremacists."
Amen.
F-off. So tired of people so fanatical that they see SJW stuff in everything under the sun.
You come here, make a post that provides readers with nothing aside from the fact that you're not watching the show anymore. Do you think Hollywood executives come here to take notes?
Unless you provide any kind of justification, nobody cares what some random dude is or isn't watching.
Dey Took our Jerbs!!!
shareFor god sakes, just dont watch the damn show if you dont want to. Nobody will notice you arent watching.
