Definitely a lot better than the 20% it got on Rotten Tomatoes

Anyone still stupid enough to trust critics? Sigh.

It was a decent movie except for the final act.

It's pretty hard to gauge a movie's merits based on these percentage scores because the system is based on a binary review model. I observed generally middling reviews, most of which were probably counted as negative.

It was pretty good. It wasn't great. Movie had total identity crisis. It was trying to be ten different movies at once. But I enjoyed it. Tom did great. Not sure why his performance was dumped on.

Ya know, I agree! Watched it yesterday and thought it was a good (but not great) movie. Much better than a lot of the super hyped movies out there. i think the problem stems from comparisons to other blockbusters and the 1999 version which is really a completely different take.

It's twice as good as Top Gun: Maverick, yet that flick somehow made bills and got nominated out the wazoo.

Movie discourse is so random.

reply

It was pretty bad. I rated it a 4/10.

I saw it when it was in theaters and remember thinking there were parts that didn’t really work, but that it was better than the reviews at the time made it out to be.
