So are there any Tyler Colt is Van Helsing theories floating around?

Maybe.

Gotta be. I cant see Cruise only being in one of the USMU films only to be killed off like that.

What makes you think Tyler Colt would be killed off? And why introduce Van Helsing as the protagonist of a Mummy film?

Warning! The Monster is loose!

An old news said that Tom would play Van Helsing some years ago , I remember . And recently I heard that there will have a Van Helsing movie which also belongs to the USMU films . So maybe our new hero Tyler actually is Van in the modern society or some kind of Van's descendant .

I remember those rumors. He was supposed to be Van Helsing when it was first talked about him being attached to these films. I just speculated as much about his character in another thread. I think this Colt character is going to be, or rather will become at any rate, a monster hunter who will have a thread throughout other films. But not Van Helsing himself. A hero who becomes cursed or driven to be as such.

Agree with you . Anyway , Tom's character must be very important in monster universe , maybe even better than Van Helsing . Or he wouldn't do this movie . I can still remember that how surprised I am when I heard that Tom would star in The Mummy !

It's the way I'd go. This is a shared universe, a franchise, and with all the monsters, you're gonna want a recurring hero as well. With all these big named monsters, it'd be only fitting to have a worthy foe, so why not use the most famous fictional monster hunter?
