Shot on 35mm

This and Dracula Untold were both shot on 35mm. Hopefully all their new monster universe pictures will be shot on celluloid. Otherwise...there's go be trouble.

Don't expect it to last, digital is taking over and eventually they'll have no other option than to film in that format.

reply

They've been saying that these past ten years.

Film lasts 100 years or longer and will always exist. They will always manufacture celluloid.

Digital hard drives won't last that long.

Film cameras are mechanical workhorses.

Film is infinite. Digital is finite.

"digital is taking over"

Except celluloid is pushing back big time in 2016; which is a great thing. Digital cameras are for TV and teeny-boppers making Youtube videos. Celluloid is for film glory!

Tom Cruise seems to be a proponent of film. I don't think any of his movies have been shot digitally.

reply

The only one I can think of is Oblivion. I think the rest have all been celluloid

reply

And Rock of Ages but yeah, for the most part, his films have been on celluloid.

Great news. Thanks for the information. I'm planning on seeing this one. I'm a film fan.

What's the point if they are just going to look like your average piece of shít digital film, like Dracula Untold does.
