Can Universal please buy the Friday The 13th franchise?

I'm dying to see Jason meet Dracula.

Want three steaks?... My mistake. Four steaks. 

I'm actually hoping Hollywood gets their sh!t together and makes a slasher cinematic universe. All they need is one company that owns only a few of them (New Line? Paramount?) to get this thing started then when (if) people are receptive to it, other studios will make deals to get their character in. The rights issue really isn't as overblown as people make it out to be, I mean these characters aren't Spider-Man. I just think they're afraid to put a whole ton of money into a big pot that may not work out for them, and that's understandable since slasher films haven't been successful in 30 years (with the exception of Scream). But seriously, one of these studios should reboot a slasher without too high of a budget, hinting at an overall world, and slightly referencing characters, events and objects (Necromonicon) from other franchises. That would be enough to garner interest for other reboots, eventually getting more and more characters into the mix leading to an ensemble film. But they need people who are passionate about these properties otherwise they'll keep failing. I mean the possibilites are endless. Japan just made a Grudge vs Ring movie and while yeah it's not going to win any awards, fans loved it because it's an awesome idea. I mean you could even go further and get Exorcist, Insidious, Conjuring, Amityville Horror, Omen, Alien, Predator, Anaconda, Jaws, etc...as long as the story makes sense and the quality is good (no SyFy bs) fans will love it. They would just have to acknowledge that "hey we're not trying to replace the classics, we're going for a more action oriented take on horror icons". Keep it R rated, make the killers the main character instead of survivor girl, and embrace the fact that these killers are bada$$. Make them popcorn films. Nobody gets scared by these type of horror films anymore, and any attempt to make it scary always ends in failure. Make it awesome, make it bloody, give the killers more depth, keep the body count hi, and let's see these guys duke it out.

Just think about it: Jason chases a couple into a cabin in Crystal Lake where other kids had just read the Necromonicon. One of the girls has a secret, she has watched The Ring tape 7 days ago. She finds a box in the basement of the cabin and uses it to summon the Cenobites to ask for protection. Chaos ensues. Come on, how awesome is this?

Everything you just said I agree with. This needs to happen.

This is the best idea ever. I've always wanted to see a Jason vs Predator movie. That title alone would recoup the investment
