The movie was no masterpiece but i was entertained, liked evans has dracula and Dance as the master. Plus there both alive by the end and in modern time.
It had a bit of castlevania vibe. If they dont plan to make a sequel at the very least they could use both actors in one of the movie that is coming.
I'm afraid I think most of the movie-going public have forgotten that movie even existed.
Regardless of individual opinion, it's obvious the movie did not work on a critical or financially viable level and has since disappeared into the so-called bargain bin.
It would be a brave producer indeed to bring back the version of a character from a forgotten, poor movie instead of starting afresh and casting an actor more in line with the Cruise's, Crowe's and Depp's of this film universe.
From what I understand it was more or less a test movie for the franchise. They left the ending open ended in such a way that if they wanted to they could incorporate it into this universe. However I am also sure it didn't do well and am pretty sure they decided not to.
