Why ppl saying they will not use evans as dracula?

Okay i get it dracula untold bombed financialy and criticaly, but evans and Dance where great in there roles. There is no need to recast Dracula, just use dracula like marvel use hulk, put him in the assemble movie or as a support character in another solo movie.

Whos gonna replace evans? Go full cliche mode with Pit or Dicaprio? They seem to be a will to pick all the middle age AAA actors. Kind if weird.

The only other pick would be someone more traditionally menacing and 'manly', as well as mainland European, so they're not going to find them on a Hollywood or UK shortlist in this era. Plus, I don't think they want him too scary with the anti-hero angle, right?

I thought Evans was fine in the role. I never liked him before I saw him in Dracula (he was a godawful Bard largely due to the writing), but he won me over enough as Drac so I don't avoid his stuff like the plague anymore.

I liked Luke Evans as Dracula. Dracula Untold was better than I expected because of him (Charles Dance as well).

I'm probably biased though because I think Luke Evans is ridiculously attractive. He's not "pretty", but damn, does he give me the tingles.  

Frankly I don't think Evans could hold up starring opposite Cruise/Crowe/Depp. He's an ok actor just not nearly as good as those three, especially Cruise and Depp. Besides his movie response was mixed.

They can't carry over Luke Evans's Dracula because they can't fit him into the universe they're currently creating. During production, they had no plans of creating a shared universe until after the majority of the movie was shot. A scene was shot for the end in order to potentially create a reason for him to appear again within the new universe. The MCU started began with Iron-Man and The Incredible Hulk while the UMCU is beginning with The Mummy.

Seeing that they're looking to have bigger names attached to their monsters (such as Johnny Deep and Dwayne Johnson) it makes it seem as if they'd be looking to recast the role of Dracula as well. I honestly can't see Luke Evans being the Head of the UMCU when you have actors who are far beyond him in popularity.

I enjoyed Luke Evans as Dracula but I believe there is a need for a different interpretation of the character for what Universal is setting up.

Exactly. I thought Untold was decent, even though mediocre, and Evans, in addition to being a babe, is a pretty solid actor. But there's no way they're dredging up that 3 year old flick that most people don't remember, and cramming it into this new movie universe full of A-list stars.

The only reason Sofia Boutella is The Mummy is because it's one of the B-level Monsters and she's being supported by Cruise and Crowe in this first flick. Evans won't be back to headline or co-lead a film as a character as iconic as Dracula in this particular series, and Untold will be considered a one-off film/story like Van Helsing from 2003 or the 2010 Wolfman film.

Collider is reporting that that movie will not be canon with the UMCU. So they will recast, however that doesn't necessarily mean some elements can't be carried over, just altered enough that they'll be stand alone.
