I thought the Mummy was supposed to be a horror movie?

When this was first announced I read they were gonna make it an actual horror movie like the 1932 original, with plenty of gore and a hard-R rating. So I was excited.

But right when I heard Tom Cruise was in it, I knew something was wrong. Tom Cruise doesn't do horror movies. It sounded like a huge miscast.

But then the trailer came out and all my worst fears were realized. It's actually not a horror movie at all, but really just another Mission Impossible movie, with CGI and explosions and a mummy thrown in. They've turned what was supposed to be a genuinely scary movie into...another Tom Cruise movie.

Am I the only one who thought the original idea for this project was actually interesting? That would've been way better than Cruise falling out of another fùcking plane.

I was excited also, but now it does look like another by the numbers, 12A Tom Cruise vehicle movie. They're trying to start a Cinematic Universe like Marvel, which apparently every bloody movie now has to be in a cinematic universe now. It seems like they're not taking any risks, and just sticking with a tried and true formula.

Una!

I'd have preferred Ethan Hunt to fight a secret organization or something in Mission Impossible 6, not a mummy, that's too far-fetched

even equiped with a shovel and you couldn't dig this

It's only the first trailer, I'm sure it'll have horror. Hopefully it won't have any jumpscare *beep* that's too common in horror films today.
