So the military is transporting a mummy....

...because, why? That literally makes no sense. Let's get an entire C-130 for a freakin mummy. Only in a movie does that happen.

The Air Force/military performs all kinds of non-military and/or humanitarian missions. Again, remember... only in movies do Bats cause Air Strikes and only Movies do Mummies come to life.

The capabilities of a C-130 and C-17 enable it to engage, take off and land in places that commercial airlift will not afford. AND, for the sake of the movie... The military may want dibs on this Mummy.

You seem young (at least I hope you are with statements like that), fact-check the capes of the C-130 (H and J Models). If that's what this aircraft was, if so it wasn't to scale.

If I'm wrong about it, then tell me why I'm wrong. Just don't patronize me. Makes you look like an a$$hole.

I apologize. It was late and I was pissed off at something else. Now that I re-read my first post, it was a d*ck move on my part.

In reality, the military will perform nation assist missions. Especially if we pay rent to have an Air Base in another country.

For the sake of the movie, maybe the US Gov illegally obtained the Mummy for their own use as a weapon. Or, they wanted to keep it out of the hands of a terrorist organization.

Basically, for the sake of the movie, I don't see it as far-fetched for a C-130 to be used as transport.

Well these guys all looked like Americans so I don't think it was assisting another nation but after I looked into it a little more I did find that the military does work with archaeologists so it's not that far-fetched. That and Raiders of the Last Ark is pretty much what this movie seems to want to be so there's precedent. Still, that was because Hitler was nuts and was obsessed with all sorts of crazy sh@# that made it more plausible.

I guess maybe if they were concerned that the terrorist group was like ISIS and may have wanted to destroy or steal the mummy. Although it looks like they dug this out of the ground so that seems a bit unlikely. But if the military thought it could be an actual weapon, why so little security on the plane? Also, if they though it was a mummy with actual powers, how the hell could they possibly control it? The military has done some pretty dumb and reckless sh@# in the past, like all those nuclear tests that ended up contaminating and killing hundreds, if not, thousands of people among other things.

You might think i'm a BS poster, but I was defensive at first because I have been on those missions out of North Vietnam. Not in the sixties, rather just a few years ago. Our site was looking for 2 downed pilots from the Vietnam war. I've flown so much (rode, I'm not a pilot) that I cannot remember what we used to transport the remains. Either a C-130 or C-17.
