I want an (openly) Gay male cast member!

I find it a bit absurd we are 5 years in to a show about servers/bartenders in West Hollywood and we have yet to see a significant cast member be an openly gay man. I'd love to see a gay man on this show dating, be in a serious relationship, or married even. I just think that (if authentic) it could really be great for the show. I'm biast because I live here in WEHO and at this point, most of my close friends are gay men lol. But still, I stand by my belief that a show set here in weho about servers at a restaurant in Boystown needs a gay male cast member. If it had happened this year, he could have potentially provided actual insight about what was going on during Pride instead of just sitting there with crocodile tears.

I agree. It's odd that there hasn't been one with it being in West Hollywood and on Bravo. There was that one friend, and I saw an interview where he said that he wanted to be featured on the show more, but I haven't seen him at all this season.

Maybe they'll do a Pump spinoff?

I'm also all for it because I know it would really unnerve the homophobic poster RvaBread, and that could be fun to watch. Maybe he could finally come out of his own closet.

I'm all for it! Plus we get the bonus you mentioned.. it's always realllly amusing watching a bigot lose their mind lololol How about it Bravo?

reply

I get a kick out of it, but then I also get kinda disconcerted that some people are so.....challenged.....and really believe that crap! He tells people that they should leave him alone for his beliefs and doesn't even understand the irony there. It's kinda sad.

reply

"Challenged" lol I like that. I have a few choice words I use to describe but that's not one of em! Yes it is sad that the irony is too complicated a concept for him to grasp. He's probably still busy reading 'Twist off Caps for Dummies' heh heh Some people huh?

reply

You should see his videos. Just, wow. It gives a whole additional new and scary perspective. I think the link is in his bio.

reply

I think its a great idea especially if its someone who comes on and has dirt on one of the other straight cast members or pulls a Kenya Moore and actively goes after an already married cast member lol.

reply

I for one, do not. I just don't understand this. Why is it so important to have a homosexual character on almost every TV show today? I'm so glad that The Big Bang Theory didn't push that agenda. It would be too easy. Its just lack of creativity that they must have a homosexual character. Be original! Its not the gay people I object to, its the sin of their homosexuality.

Adding openly gay characters would realistically represent the community where LVPs restaurant and club are located.
It's not the bigotry I object to its the judgement of other peoples lives.

I was thinking this the other day. With such a high percentage of gay men in West Hollywood we're not seeing any openly gay characters on this show.

reply

Maybe LVP only acts like she likes the gays, but really doesn't want to employee one.

reply

Don't they already do the "gay pride" episodes? That's more than enough.

Actually, it wouldn't realistically represent the community anymore than showing scenes from Pump already do. This show isn't about the community, its about this one group of friends that originally worked for LVP. Its about all of their disfunction and drama. So if there isnt already a gay person in that group (all jokes aside about Jax and the Tom's), there doesn't need to be one added. And honestly, how unstable and crazy of a gay man or woman would they need to find to fit into this show?

In fact, every time they add some new person, they end up getting hate from parts of the original cast. Whether its James or Lala or whomever, if you don't get along with the OG's, you are screwed. How exactly is adding some random gay guy/girl into the show going to fit within that group? The only reason why they added Brittany is because of Jax. If they break up, she would be gone in a heartbeat.

It just wouldnt fit. So no, don't force a gay cast member into the show "just because".

reply

Rva nobody cares about bible rhetoric here why are you always saying this?

reply

Aren't you promoting Jim Parson's homosexual agenda by watching The Big Bang Theory?

reply

Why? So we have another character acting like a twit and he's gay? And that makes a difference because....??

reply

Exactly! Why do we need all this political rhetoric where we have to a homosexual character on every program. Its like people run out of ideas. So let's have a gay!

I want them on a guys trip and see how it changes the dynamic. Yes I have seen guys do gay stuff as "jokes" to a gay guy and it does happen but I wish I saw it more. My friend grabbed my butt recently, as a matter of fact.

reply

Jax might not be openly gay but if the rumors are correct, he's definitely gay for pay - and who can blame him? He probably makes more money being a gay escort than all the Vanderpump cast combined!

reply

I have said this since Day 1. LVP installed her restaurant at the epicenter of a gay neighborhood and yet not one gay man or woman on the show except for the mincing asian queen she allows to be her private party planner. I have been going in and out of west hollywood for 22 years. And LVP has with great career strategy positioned herself as if she is the Big Gay Godmother in West Hollywood, riding the float etc. It's a joke. It is the equivalent of staging a show at 18th & Castro and not having a gay character or staging a show in Harlem and not having a black character. I agree with the OP. It is almost as if they went to great lengths to NOT have a gay character on the show.

reply

Hmnnnnn, do you think it is all a strategic act on LVP's part?

reply

I did hear a rumor that there is a spinoff in the works about RHOBH Erika's main man Mikey, and his friends. Maybe you even posted that?! It does seem absurd that Vanderpump Rules has no gay cast members.

reply

They are all gay, do they have to be OUT too? That seems a bit much.
