where is all this money coming from, does anyone have a budget?

Are we supposed to assume that these people on Vanderpump Rules are spending their own money or living a lifestyle they would be living if they didn't have their Bravo, Vanderpump Rules money? Reality TV or reality reality TV? Every episode is them going on vacation or going out to eat to talk about going on vacation or going out to eat to talk about planning a big party with a lot of catering, etc etc etc. At least drinks every other night if you add all this up, just guesstimating what they would spend at one of these events that they attend, there is no way they could be using their Sur paychecks to pay for all this. Even with the Bravo money, it's pretty extravagant.. They are dropping bills left and right and where is this money supposed to be coming from?

reply

I was wondering the same thing? Sandavol can't have $9000 just laying around from being a bartender. Can he? Lol

reply

It may be possible that he does have that kind of money. During the gay pride parade Scheanna said that she made about $765 in tips.

reply

Wow! I'm in the wrong profession!

reply

They get paid good money per episode. They're ACTORS on a reality show. That's their main source of income.

reply

"Actors on a reality show" .. an oxymoron if ever there was!

reply

it's a tv show. of course they're not paying for their "vacations". if you were to go to Sur right now, would they be working there? No. They "work" there during filming and that's it.

reply

Even when they're not filming people post pictures all over the Vanderpump Rules tags with any of them

"I never hear you speak and when you do you apologize for saving me?"

reply

Correct. They don't pay for any of that stuff, it is all on Bravo's dime.

My wife and I got married at the St. Regis, where Tamara from the OC housewives got married. Our wedding planner told me Bravo paid for everything.

The cast members don't seem to live that lavish of a lifestyle. Their apartments are not fancy and I don't think they are in the most expensive parts of LA. Apartments in Hollywood are (usually) not all that expensive for what you get, at least in LA. There are pricier parts of socal.

My guess is that Bravo does not want to see them live too lavishly. They don't want people to see them in pricey condos and 50k cars, as people would wonder how bartenders afford such things, other than the trips of course. This actually helps them, if they are saving money instead of spending it that is wise.

The exception to the car rule is James, but I believe he has family money.

reply

Of course the show pays for all of the vacations and stuff. But they are earning a salary for being on the show, the main cast make around 5,000 an episode now.

reply

Their vacations, and any other excursion that takes place during filming, are paid for. As is any and all alcohol!! Yet I've often wondered how/when their pay checks are distributed for each season. Are they held in escrow until filming is over? I question it because we know they're now making a decent salary yet they continue to live in those shabby little apartments. Well, Kristin upgraded to a nicer one, but still...

I've seen a few of them driving new cars. Just like on 'Teen Mom', after several season we were supposed to be lulled into thinking they struggled financially, even tho their salaries had been made public. SMH...

reply

But their apartments are very tacky. They're poor.

Agreed! Their MORE than old enough to own their own HOUSES.

Apartments are blah!

What does old enough have to do with it? It is about what you make not how old you are. Also, they are watresses/bartenders, so they don't make enough to buy a house in a decent part of LA without salary from the show, and the salary from VR won't be there forever.

Age has to do with it because MOST people their ages are living in homes. Homes are a much better investment than living in apartments. With apartments you don't have to pay annual property taxes; however, one of the major disadvantages of living in an apartment is that you're just throwing away $ on rent that could be used to invest in a house for someone's financial future.

Of course homes are better, but LA is very expensive. Owning a home has to do with income, not with age. Telling them they are old enough to buy a home won't help them if they can't afford one. Most people that age owning homes is true in much of the country, but not in the extremely expensive areas. Obviously they are throwing money away but they don't have an option to buy so that is a moot point. If they stay in the shi shi parts of LA they may well never own.

reply

are you saying that they're smart for living in their shabby apartments?

reply

Where else are they supposed to live?

They don't have the money to afford to buy, so what are they supposed to do?

Obviously buying is preferable, I made that pretty clear in my previous posts that it is better to own, most of the time, if that is possible. These people don't have the money to buy, unless we count what they are making on the show, so what are they supposed to do? Are they supposed to move to Bakersfield or somewhere they can afford? I'm not saying that is a terrible idea, but good luck with the acting/modeling up there.

These people don't have the option of owning homes in a nice part of LA, so please tell me what they are supposed to do.

reply

di4060~ Renting would only be throwing money away if you were paying for it
and couldn't live there.
Owning involves
Property taxes
structural issues
lighting/ plumbing, electric, landscaping, etc. that's all on the homeowner, which adds up quick especially in LA. It takes two for the average income & these guys don't seem responsible enough to go in that deep with.

09 proved most people can't afford a decent house.
Most ppl aren't homeowners anyway, the banks are holding their mortgage.
Unless you paid full up front you're not a homeowner!!
You are buying a home.

I get so sick of ppl saying that!!!

Curious to know what city and state you live in..........

They probably get paid pretty good from Bravo.

Bartenders in major cities make BANK. A bartender in West Hollywood especially? Go out one night there to the "popular" places and you'll easily realize that they indeed make a living. As for them having money saved, I commend this cast for seemingly holding on to the money they make per episode. None of them seem to spend extravagantly on cars or homes. They still rent out apartments. Jax Taylor even said in an interview that he is pretty set in terms of savings after being on this show and he admits to being a bit of a penny pincher. As for all the vacations and events they go to, those are all pretty much covered by Bravo and Vanderpump. I lived above a bar in SF for 4 years with one of the bartenders at said bar, he had Thurs-Sat prime shifts, and a Sunday afternoon shift. On average, he would make about 5-600 bucks in tips during most decent weekends, coupled with his hourly pay.

I'm always dragging that horse around...

I'm not saying that is nothing but such money won't get you all that far in socal. The people who are saying they are wealthy enough to buy houses are probably not correct. They might afford an apartment, but to buy a house based on the salary from the show is setting oneself up for failure when the show is canceled.

And Donuts, old enough to own their own houses? In Los Angeles? Are you being serious right now?

I'm always dragging that horse around...

Donuts is an idiot and not the brightest, so don't take any of his/her posts seriously.

I'm sure they are paid well by Bravo - six figures per season I would guess, especially at this stage. Plus I'm sure Bravo pays for their trips that are filmed - the Nascar race (Bravo hooked them up with pit passes I'm sure), obviously the Montauk trip since it was promo for Summer House. Some of them also make money from other ventures besides SUR - Scheana does a lot of the Instagram advertisements, Katie has her blog which might get ad revenue or at least payments to showcase a product. Stassi doesn't work at all, so I'm sure she lives off her Bravo salary and any money she makes from her podcast.

reply

I heard they get $50000 per episode.
