anyone catch season one?

So I'm kind of going backwards and just finished season one. Having watched the later seasons first, I would have thought Adrienne was a horrible person, considering Kat called her "the devil" and Eddie quickly tried to avoid her altogether; but after watching her season I kind of felt bad for her. Yes she is a little rigid and kind of annoying but I thought she was at least trying to do her job and take her crew's needs into consideration. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Did I miss something?

When I watched the season, I thought she was ok and got a bad rap, but watching later seasons too... she does seem like a bad chief stew, for example Kate has no problem getting her hands dirty and leading not just by telling them what to do but by example, Adrienne seemed to think she was above her share of the actual blue collar work.

I liked Adrienne and thought she got stuck with two terrible stews - both were disrespectful, self-centered and condescending. She had high standards and they didn't.

it's one of my favorite seasons actually. including the recent Sailing Yacht

I definitely agree that the 2nd and 3rd stews were terrible, but I also think Adrienne’s leaderships skills are seriously lacking. In her very first meeting with them she came off like a drill sergeant. She then showed her prejudice against stews who worked on a family-owned yacht, saying to the producers that they don’t know anything. And basically she said that to Sam’s face. That got things off to a bad start, and it was of her own making.

Also, Adrienne said multiple times that when people push back on her she tends to stand her ground and resist being flexible. Well duh, she should understand that her stews will have the same reaction to her pushing them. She needs to learn how to lead through example, through inspiration and with kindness and respect.

And finally—
Adrienne’s reaction to her disgusting friend Simon’s sexual harassment of Kat was entirely WRONG. She did nothing to support Kat and basically told her it was her own fault for not standing up to him. She told her to suck it up and get over it. Then she defended Simon’s behavior.

GROSS!
