Kate's decorations are nice

Have to say I am impressed with Kate's table decorations and party planning this season. In the past, her paper cut outs seemed amateurish but this season everything looks classy and creative. The colors at the Lunar New Year dinner were beautiful: China in the Caribbean is a challenging mix but she did a beautiful job. Too bad Ben neglected that broth else all would have been perfect. Dean doesn't deserve it though. He is always looking for faults and puts everyone on edge.

I don't think that Ben "neglected" the broth. I think that he felt that it needed to cool or chill quickly so he dumped some ice cubes into it; hence it became watered down. That caused the intense flavor to be missing. I remember Ben getting mad at himself as he said that he knew better than do that. I think the pressure that Dean puts on him befuddles him. It shouldn't. Ben is a professional but hey, we all have our days don't we...

I saw that and wondered what the rush was to cool it by diluting a broth like that? It made no sense and I don't cook! 

I think his mind is split in two:

His relationship with Ems...lovey dovey dumb brain

Cooking for Dean...the picky guest (not as bad as some of the other charters..the 12 courses...girl who wouldn't eat anything)

Ben did explain he added the ice to stop the shrimp from cooking further that was his reasoning but he didn't consider how it would affect the broth.

Dean est un grand douche. or as they say in Las Vegas, what a "bleep" hole.

Although he has had his moments: it was nice of him to compliment Ben's first meal when they came aboard, and as for the broth, if it was watered down, it was watered down and for what they pay for these cruises (even with the Bravo discount) he wasn't out of line to say so.

I thought his friends from the boy nation were cute in an inoffensive way, but I find Dean to be kind of a sad figure, in the sense that they don't seem like real friends for him, more like paid companions. But maybe that's the way he likes it, because then he can call all the shots.
