Do none of the female crew own -- and know how to use -- a hairbrush?

I don't mind undone buns, and I realize they're run off their feet taking care of the guests, but come on, is a 10-second comb through really that hard to manage? Kate and Emily walk around looking like they just stuck a wet finger in an electric outlet.

Lauren is excused from hair duty because of her outside work, and Sierra's looks pretty good most of the time but Kate and Emily seem to be competing for the Fright Wig title.

Lauren ain't excused...her hair ain't real. Neither is her 'outside work' ethic.

Whether it's real or not, she is out exposed to the sun and wind and sea air more than the inside crew. It has nothing to do with her actual work ethic -- which I agree with you, sucks -- her job is outside. She could be standing there polishing the same window in slow motion for hours, it's still exposing her to the elements. Haven't you noticed how brown and leathery her skin is looking as the season progresses? And her hair looks fried.

Well, they are working in a fairly humid and often windy environment (at least when on deck). They probably don't get to shower or wash their hair every day either due to water use restrictions.

Also the salt air does a number on hair.

Emily, bless her heart - her hair looks like it's a rat's nest almost all the time. And some of the ways she styles it (or doesn't style it) makes it even worse.

I like when Emiy leaces her hair curly.... I think it looks best Curly.. Otherwise, it looks a bit messy, but nothing to crazy. Kate, on the other hand, does seem to favor the bed head look.....

I'm not a fan of Kate's messy thrown on top her head top knot looks. It accentuates the fact that she was overdue with getting her roots done when she began the season.

Plus when she's already looking tired because of the under eye bags, it makes her look like she literally just rolled out of bed, pulled on her clothes and went to work.

I'll give Emily a pass on the hair..I have terrible hair and it looks like she does, too. Thick, coarse, wavy. The only time it looks kinda decent is if I wash, blow dry and straighten it, which takes a long time. In a situation like the boat, she doesn't have time to do that every day. When I go camping or anything where I am unable to do that, my hair looks terrible all the time. That being said, in her position, she should put it in a bun or something similar to hide the worst of it.
