Quit bashing

The board here makes the show look awful. It's one of the best shows literally on the History channel.

So it's not how you would have done it? I felt the same thing first time I watched it. Look, it's not your show, it's not your business.

It appeals to a more artistic audience and that's great. I would also like to see more mechanics involved, but if you want to learn about that stuff, any TV show can only get your feet wet. Maybe that's why Danny chose to focus on a more entertainy genre. He wants to break away from the norm and give you something new. Good for him.

You look pathetic criticizing the man's business. The reason he's so successful is because he ignores people who don't get it.

reply

I doubt Danny Koker wants to give the viewer "something new" in the "entertainy genre." He likely has little to no say in the direction of the show. That goes to the producers, director(s), and History Channel execs. Personal attacks like "you look pathetic" and "you don't get it" directed at no one in particular is just going to get you shouted down, by the way, and is a very weak argument for why the show is good.

reply

That's a great point. I'm sure the History Channel puts a lot of emphasis on influencing the style of the show. That being said, I don't believe he's a complete puppet however. Also I disagree with your last point. Lol. There was just too many people to target anyone in specific. Oh well, it's just Imdb.

sadly it is one of the better shows on the not anything about history channel, but that isnt saying much when you are considering the other shows such as pawn tards and american picker morons. i love cars and love car shows top gear uk most of all but this show is pretty weak what with count dorkula and that horny mike idiot. also the cars the restore/customize typical look tacky and like something that only fans of bad b stock horror movies would like.

Yeah, they're lacking; yet, it is what it is and they continue to be on TV.. Seems to be today's trend: market the easiest and the cheapest - for the most money. It's like what they do in the shop: construct a bike for 10-15-20 thousand dollars and then sell it for $35.000 and make the customer think they're doing him, or her, a 'favor' by being 'on budget'. It's just funny to see, sometimes I watch it when it's on.

Edit: You know what they say, there's a sucker born every min. xD

If this is one of the better shows on History Channel, I'm surprised the channel still exists. I don't know who the viewership is for a car restoration/customization "reality" show that's 50-75% scripted and shows maybe 5-10 minutes of ACTUAL car resto/custo per episode. It appeals to artistic types, you say? I cringe to think of what you consider "art". Dogs Playing Poker on crushed velvet in a gold spray-painted frame, perhaps.
This message boards are open to all IMDb members, and someone has the same rights to knock the show as you do to defend it. Differing opinions, man, that's all it is. Differing opinions.

It is literally one of the worst TV shows ever made. And it has no place on the History Channel.
