Day of Fudging the Details
Day of Judgement aired on June 4, 2013
Featured vehicles include a 1962 Chevrolet C-10 that Danny, Kevin and Scott investigate at the tow yard of Kevin's brother, Steve, which shows signs of fire damage; and a 1963 split window Corvette Sting Ray that Scott sees while on the road. Also, Mike's taunts over Roli's experience leads to an impromptu a wrestling match between the two.
At the beginning of the episode it is established that Koker and Kevin Mack are headed out to Steve Mack's (Kevin's brother) tow yard to look at a 1962 Chevy C-10 pickup truck.
Koker: This is gonna be cool, a '62 Chevy pickup.
Kevin Mack: A '62 Chevy pickup in his impound yard and they did a mechanic's lien on it.
Koker: So he owns it now?
KM: He owns it now.
Koker: Sweet!
Koker: Look at this thing it's just covered in soot!
KM: It looks like it caught on fire.
Koker: It does.
KM: Which scares me. But look at this [as he peels off a sticker on the driver's door]
Koker: Oh, gee, little bit of bondo action there.
Koker: Tell me the story on this man, how'd you get it?
Steve Mack: It was abandoned. My guys towed it and nobody came and claimed it.
Koker: Nice! Do you know anything about the motor/trans?
SM: We checked it, the engine and tranny are shot.
Koker: We take this thing back to the shop; nice motor; nice trans; truck's got tons of potential.
We could flip this truck. Appreciate the call on this one Steve. This one looks nice man.
SM: Whoa! Wait man! No, no, no, I'm not talking about flipping the truck man. I'm talking about keeping the truck for myself.
Koker: Ooooooooh.
SM: Yeeeah.
KM: Wait a second attorneys don't own these, they drive Mercedes.
SM: Attorneys don't own towing yards either. Ha ha ha!
Blah, blah, blah.
SM: …. I wanna be like you guys.
Blah, blah, blah. Scott shows up complaining that Koker said he wasn't going to be buying any vehicles until they recover financially and that Koker can't buy this truck.
KM: Steve decided he wants to build it for himself. We're gonna rebuild it for him.
Yep, rebuild a truck that was never abandoned by some unknown owner, likely never had a fire, and it was obviously rebuilt in the past by...
Turns out Steve Mack personally rebuilt this truck (2008-2010) and provided details of the rebuild on a forum devoted to a Chevy trucks (Mack's forum name: Daddymack). Guess who painted the truck because Steve Mack didn't have auto painting skills? You guessed it, Count's Kustoms. Forum members wondered if Steve and Mark were responsible for “bondo action” mentioned during the episode?
Many photos of the Steve's truck rebuild are shots of the truck in a pretty nice shop which just happens to be … Count's Kustoms.
Alert members of the forum note the “soot” looks an awful like a light coat of spray paint that ran. So no fire damage, more like the prop crew “distressed/aged” the truck for the episode. The engine may or may not have been trashed by Steve Mack's son because he gave it to his son as a daily driver to drive in high school. At any rate, Steve Mack always intended to replace the engine/tranny when his son left for college.

As for Steve Mack's “I wanna be like you guys” quip... if anything, History reality TV shows are good at producing “wanna be's” who want their own crappy reality TV show because this guy has a truly awful idea for a reality TV show called “Wheels of Justice”. Google Steve Mack Wheels of Justice and watch the sizzle reel on Vimeo at your own peril.
Steve Mack also appeared on "I Want My Caddy Back" episode on March 17, 2015. Turns out that was his Cadillac too.
BTW, it was revealed in the forum that Ron Dale was a punter for USC and a video exists that was appropriately named Ron Dale, actor extraordinaire - USC at Arizona State – 10/27/1990. His acting skills as a punter did not carry over to reality TV. He also had a minor league baseball career pitching in the Padres farm clubs for two years and an independent league for one year share
