I remember when it was called Brazil...

...hack director, like Woody Allen, out of ideas, remakes the same movie over and over again.

I liked Brazil, I didn't like this. Felt a lot like Brazil remade, even the idea of running away with the girl, which of course didn't happen.

Brazil is horribly dated. And the main actor is not likeable....AT ALL

Of course you are wrong chazz, brazil will never be outdated, but this pile of rubbish will be forgotten quicker than you can imagine.

Totally agree bora-11, Brazil is one of my all-time favorite movies...

I remember reading that Gilliam said the Zero Theorem is a story of corporations running amok and Brazil was the government going buck-wild. Almost like an unofficial part two in a different universe. i'm paraphrasing, of course... lol

I thought this was equally moving and thought provoking as Brazil, if not more so, imho. Amusing with brilliant use of imagery and Gilliam's camera angles are always fun; no matter the subject.

But, with that said, it didn't have as big of an impact though as Brazil that's for sure... maybe if this was made/released before Brazil? Before this subject matter/genre(?) had been explored to death. Just imagine if they were switched around... people would be praising 'TZT' and bashing 'Brazil'... so w/evs.. i like 'em both yo!

Yeah, Woody Allen makes the same movie over and over again. Crimes and Misdemeanors, Curse of the Jade Scorpion, Shadows and Fog, Ziggy Stardust, Interiors, Blue Jasmine, Midnight in Paris, Sleeper and Deconstructing Harry are all too goddamn similar.

Incidentally, this is a great movie that aside from a dystopian futuristic setting isn't very similar to Brazil.
