I find it unlikely, though perhaps he would have taken another role. Qohen's age is brought up on a number of occasions by other characters, and if he were still alive, Ledger would only be in his mid thirties now. He was only born two years before Mélanie Thierry, and it's made quite clear that her character Bainsley is drawn to the significantly older Qohen due to absent father issues.
