This guy's review explained a lot for me...

FWIW, this analysis cleared up some things and answered a lot of my questions.

Okay, its a good analysis of the film.... but theres no reasoning for him to give it 9 out of 10 IMO. The films basically a boring/depressing representation of the future that has no happiness in it including the end...

All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain

Movie made me happy and laugh. Soooo depends on how you view it. That's his rating. 9 out of 10 for me as well

Interesting, that deep truth makes you depressing. On the scope of the universe everything is small and will vanish, all moments actually will be lost, at least at the moment we die. That's how it is. No reason to be depressed or sad on that. In my oppinion, the film points on the fact, that live is to be lived (now), which is a quite buddhistic point of view. There is no reason to wait for anything (like the phonecall). Just let fears go and live and experience life (as he does at the end). Anyway I would have given 10 points for such a precious, deep philosophic film.
